Hi Gordon
I controlled Application Pools. I Installed both versions 2013 an 2015.
Everything looks correct - boths applications are using seperate paths.
After installation of 2015 everything worked fine while testing the new
version. After migration of the first projects and a crash of mapserver the
service couldn't be started again. Is it possible, that something is corrupted
in db-xml and the application has to be reinstalled?

Try this patched provider (64-bit):

http://download.osgeo.org/mapguide/patches/fdo3.9_ticket864/SQLServerSpatialProvider_x64_ticket864.zip

Buildings layer selects fine with this patch. However, something is wrong with
that landuse layer that I don't think is related to this particular issue. Even
unfiltered landuse has selectability problems.

Hello group,

I'm having a very strange problem. I would like to note that on Mapguide 2.2
vas everything fine but since 2.5.0.7449 I'm really struggling.

When I perform selection by rectangle, every single feature (line or polyline)
from every visible and selectable layer appears selected.

When I click "deselect" sometimes selection clears but sometimes element that
should be selected stays selected.

I have checked everything twice...

OS is Windows 7, browser is Chrome and IE (11).

I'm using AjaxViewer.

With Maestro Preview selecting is fine.

Thank you.

In such cases, you should extract the internal MSI using 7-zip and run that msi
like so:

msiexec /l*v install.log /i path/to/the.msi

Windows installer will then log everything to install.log

But I'm pretty sure I know what's wrong. You should check and remove anything
in IIS (via IIS manager) that could conflict with what the installer will be
creating. A rough checklist would be:

 - FastCGI applications
 - Virtual Directories (eg. mapguide)
 - Application Pools (eg. MapGuide24AppPool)

I've put up some preliminary release notes as well:

http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/wiki/Release/2.4/Notes

to show a damn point in the map I did not get it to work.
The most example codes are offline and the demo project for the "markup

Now in the last step I tried to avoid to create the layer programmatically and
created it in the Maestro.
But now the code

 featureService.UpdateFeatures(resourceIdentifier, featureCommandCollection,
false);

does not throw an exception and does also not work.
Has someone a solution for me - preferred in c# .Net for the Ajax viewer which
knowly works?

I can´t believe that it is so hard to show a damn point in the map.

Here is the last way I have tried - (last one of lots before):

Ok, I figured it out. If the repeat is completely missing and one of the begin
or end tags are missing, it automatically puts the symbol at the associated
end.  For example,

'FromAngle'
'OverlapNoWrap'
0
0

Puts a symbol at the beginning of the line - easy peasy.

Subject: [mapguide-users] SQLServer 2008 Spatial Views

Hi,
I've the following problem:

I've created a SQL view with a simple join between two db tables.
Then I created a dataconnection using FDO SQLserver 2008 provider, and a layer
with the above view as datasource.

I see all the features on then map, but they aren't selectable; trying with a
view without joins, it works fine.

Are views supported in SQLServer Spatial Data Connection?
Is it an FDO bug?

I'm using FDO 3.5.
Thanks.

If you want a measurement of your map loading time, run it through firefox with
the firebug plugin.

The firebug net tab will give you detailed information about how long each
request is taking.

It's under the OSGeo.MapGuide.ObjectModels namespace

You have to use this class, if you are creating resource objects *from
scratch* (not from an existing xml file or from a GETRESOURCECONTENT call).

Does your SQL Server 2008 database have FDO metadata tables (tables that start

Tables. Setup a pre-canned table to match your views. Either run a nightly
script or use triggers to populate it. Make sure your table is indexed
properly (both search fields and spatial).

Most end-users don't care about metadata. They want to see a map and get
information (owner, address, etc.). If all of your data is in the same
coordinate system, you can use the defaults.

Subject: [mapguide-users] MG and MSSQL performance

Hello users,

I'm having some issues with MG performance when is fetching a data from MS SQL
2008 R2 comes around. So, here are my questions about impacts on performance

1. To have or not to have FDO metadata in the database?
For my project CS is not really important, so I keep everything in local CS
(XY-M) but I did not define anywhere (map definition, data source definition)
cs. Everything is set to default

2. I have lot's of views. One or two of them is really pain in the ass.
On the server side view execution plan is really fast but when Mapguide
interact with him (selecting features) it's really slow (selecting is about
2sec)

3. What is faster, fetching data from tables or views?

4. Where can I find a sample of FDO metadata tables?

I hope so that answers are going to help a more than one Mapguide user.

Thank you.

Tables. Setup a pre-canned table to match your views. Either run a nightly
script or use triggers to populate it. Make sure your table is indexed
properly (both search fields and spatial).

[mapguide-users] TIMgis

2011-07-03 Thread Ivan Miličević
Hello group,

I'm proud to announce that after a few years my company finally released a
website of product called TIMgis (www.timgis.com<http://www.timgis.com>)

TIMgis is a software solution based on Mapguide OpenSource and ExtJS for
analysis and management of telecommunication infrastructure.

We managed to completely revamp basic Mapguide layout (development started in
2007) and by now, Mapguide looks and works good for our project.

I'm calling all of you to post your solutions. Maybe we can have a link on
Mapguide Website, something like "customer showcase" or Autodesk-like "partner
products".

Subject: [mapguide-users] MapGuide Maestro 3.0 beta 1 now available

Hi All,

After 10 months of on/off development, I am happy to announce the 1st beta
release of MapGuide Maestro 3.0:

NSIS installer:
http://download.osgeo.org/mapguide/maestro/MapGuideMaestro-Release-3.0b1-Setup.exe

Zip package:
http://download.osgeo.org/mapguide/maestro/MapGuideMaestro-3.0b1-Release.zip

First thing to remember is that this is a beta release. This release should be
used for testing purposes and feedback. Use for production purposes at your own
risk.

Some of the new stuff (from Test Build 4):

 - Implemented specialized GDAL raster feature source editor
 - Implemented specialized ODBC feature source editor
 - Implemented widget management for Fusion editor
 - Implemented Raster Layer Editor (ported over from 2.x)
 - Add support for viewing Feature Source cache information (via the
GETFDOCACHEINFO mapagent call)

These newly implemented features require some extensive testing, especially in
Mono

As I've mentioned with previous test builds, some general notes when testing
this build:

 - Found a bug? Ask yourself: Did this bug exist in Maestro 2.x, and hence is a
known problem?
 - Similarly, that Maestro 2.x issue you filed in Trac some time ago: Has it
been fixed or successfully worked around with this release?
 - So generally speaking, it really helps to have an existing installation of
Maestro 2.x on hand (current release being 2.1.4) as a baseline comparison to
whether something has been fixed or broken.
 - Filed an issue under the previous test build or beta? Did this release fix
this issue for you?
 - All existing Maestro tickets will be re-targeted to the maestro-3.0 milestone
 - Something breaks when running in Mono? It helps to specify the expected
behaviour when running in Windows. Screenshots help as well. Also indicate the
version of Mono

I think that this ticket should be high priority. Raster provider support is
pretty important. I haven't see any GIS project without raster base layer in
last couple of years.

It would be nice that community can vote for "new features list" or have more
influence what is important for next release.

I did some lightweight testing a couple of months ago and was able to use tiff,

[mapguide-users] Raster provider

2011-02-20 Thread Ivan Miličević
Hello,

Since raster provider looks to be broken in Mapguide 2.2RCx, can I use
commercial Autodesk Raster provider with Mapguide OpenSource? I have license
for Mapguide enterprise, so legally I don't see any problems.

In providers.xml I have added Autodesk Raster, copied FDRP.dll to FDO polder
but in Maestro I'm getting following error:
The remote server returned an error: (559) MgFdoException.:
An exception occurred in FDO component.
Unable to load the FDO Provider: The specified module could not be found.

Am I missing something?

Thank you.

involvement and contribution to the projects, but I'd be lost without the

I'm experiencing huge amounts of lag in SQL Spatial layers compared to SDF
layers, I've jsut added some code to populate a spatial index, does mapguide
make use of such beasts ... can I speed the process up anymore
select queries on these tables are completed in under a second, they are by no
means large datasets

I've put the following code in place to start producing spatial indexs on my
tables.

CREATE SPATIAL INDEX geomIndex ON " & schema & ftable & "(geomcol1) USING
GEOMETRY_GRID WITH (BOUNDING_BOX =(473358, 6945073, 553852, 7050461),GRIDS
=(LEVEL_1 = MEDIUM,LEVEL_2 = MEDIUM,LEVEL_3 = MEDIUM,LEVEL_4 =
MEDIUM),CELLS_PER_OBJECT = 16, PAD_INDEX  = OFF, SORT_IN_TEMPDB =
OFF,DROP_EXISTING = OFF, ALLOW_ROW_LOCKS  = ON, ALLOW_PAGE_LOCKS  = ON)

Is there any other way of improving the speed of the sql spatial server
datastore ... (over a minute on rendering the layer isn't going to cut it)

You need to create XML config file for MSSQL dana connection. Bo noticed that
new version of FDO toolbox has been improved and defining primary key in views
is much easier (described in this blog post:

"manholeIsCentroid = 0" (that's float from database) and everything look just
fine.

Mapguide selects all features who belongs to that manhole (manholeId is

If I select centroid feature with C# code the result is the same! It's look's
like that float field does not applies at all.

Filter works in featureReader (selection generates only one feature for
selection). I'm, really stuck with this.

FDO toolbox correctly filter grid view based on data.

I'm using latest beta (2.2) on IIS7.

Does anyone have a clue?

Hi All,

I am seeking interest from anyone willing to test the next version of MapGuide
Maestro (3.0)

Maestro 3.0 has been mostly rebuilt from the ground up taking lots of API
design notes from MapGuide/FDO and UI/UX inspiration from my other little
project (FDO Toolbox). I'd say around 60% of the existing code was thrown out
and rewritten while the other 40% was refactored and/or re-purposed.

It has evolved to the point where I now think it's ready for testing (but not
quite ready for production use).

I will be putting up a test build soon for those that are interested.

On loading, I'm creating map and layer (manhole) with filter value
"manholeIsCentroid = 0" (that's float from database) and everything look just
fine.
[cid:image003.png@01CB6FA1.4139DCC0]

Problem occurs when I select this feature.
[cid:image001.png@01CB6F9F.460691F0]

Mapguide selects all features who belongs to that manhole (manholeId is
identity).
[cid:image002.png@01CB6F9F.460691F0]

If I select centroid feature with C# code the result is the same! It's look's
like that float field does not applies at all.

Filter works in featureReader (selection generates only one feature for
selection). I'm, really stuck with this.

FDO toolbox correctly filter grid view based on data.

I'm using latest beta (2.2) on IIS7.

Does anyone have a clue?

Thank you.

from your point of view, how complicated would be to implement open layers

Hi,

We are using GeoREST together with MapGuide and OpenLayers for feature editing.
It is all open source and can be reused. It is not that well documented, still
we are using it in production.

Very raw sample of usage is here:
http://www.sl-king.com/GeoRestMapSample/example1/rview.html
It is sheboygan data. You can zoom in and edit buildings, both graphics and
attributes.
User edits goes from browser with OpenLayers trough HTTP to GeoREST and
MapGuide where edits are executed.

Hm, If there would be interest of others we may put together javascript samples
and more documentation.

ok guys!! I resolve it!

the problem is layer id session. I must recover a valid session for each layer
envolved in highlights feature and for this is necessary to query mapguide with
a QUERYMAPFEATURES for each layer and use this ID to regenerate the final xml
FeatureInformation.

This highlight is create by a reverse deduction of ID that are binding with a
custom code that is not a gis information, but an alphanumeric data.

A simple answer to your question would be "click on the zoom to extents
button". In order to provide a _useful_ answer, we will need more information
about the problem you are trying to solve, what you have done already, what
errors you have run into when attempting to do that, etc.

Nobody is going to write your program for you from scratch, but we're often

Is it possible to apply a custom line style for a layer. As like for a

RE: [mapguide-users] Maestro 2.1 Preview Release

2010-04-27 Thread Ivan Miličević
Jackie,

This is jus awesome. The future of Maestro is very bright. Merging FDO toolbox
with Maestro is simply brilliant idea (I know that you are going to do that)
because that app could replace expensive Autodesk tools for editing data. You
should get special award from Mapguide community.

Can we donate some money trough the PayPal system?

I have started translating to Croatian language a while ago and I think that I
could finish that in near future.

Subject: [mapguide-users] Maestro 2.1 Preview Release

Hi All,

I have posted a preview of the upcoming 2.1 release of Maestro (based on svn
r4814)

Some of the new features include:

 - DSN browsing support for the ODBC feature source editor
 - Map Editor enhancements
   - Double clicking any layer in the Map Editor will now open the Layer Editor
   - Ability to drag and drop layers from the Site Explorer into the Map Editor
 - Basic editor and API support for SDF and SHP load procedures.

Special thanks to Crispin @ 1spatial for supplying the following enhancements
as well:

 - XML editor find and replace
 - Right click open all resources in folder
 - Batch XML resource content find and replace from context menu
 - Coordinate System override usability enhancements

Although I have blogged about it, Local Feature Source preview is disabled for
this release because it depends on a fix for Trac ticket 708, which we're still
trying to determine the right solution for.

If you use the Maestro API in your applications, I have documented any API
changes made since the 2.0 release here:
http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/wiki/maestro/MaestroAPI/2.1ApiChanges

If you've provided translations for Maestro in the past, I would like to get in
contact with you about providing some updated translations as the new features
have left some language gaps that need to be patched up. I'm also interested in
any offers to maintain the Danish translation as Kenneth (I assume) was the
original maintainer of this translation.

Download the preview release here:
http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/wiki/maestro/Downloads (under the section: 2.1
Preview releases)

Regards,

- Jackie

One problem came...

Actually i have two application in my system

In 1st app I was accessing formFrame by parent.parent.frames[2]

But now after the changes in the framesettaskbar.templ file

 Added a
new
frame

I have to access formFrame like this : parent.parent.frames[3]
Or I can access by its name : parent.parent.formFrame

Finally I got that accessing by index can be dangerous better to access by
its name

Now i changed every where because i know where ever i have used (In my Other
application)

I dont have any idea about SetUp

I think what ever i m changing inside the templ file i have to place it in
our client machine after installation MGOS (Inside the same path ie.
MapGuide\Web\www\viewerfiles in our client's Server machine ) And
Viewerfiles are same for all the projects.

But if client will have another project and If there somebody has accessed
by it index then problem may come.

Is there any solution for this problem

Please rectify me if m wrong

thanks

That's the page Praveen pointed me towards, and which I was trying to use as
a model. However, the two events it shows you how to hook into are the
completion of the loading of the map, and OnSelectionChaged. I need to hook
into RequestMap(), which is a function, not an event of any kind, as far as
my limited understanding tells me.

Unless someone can give me a technique to achieve that, I'll go back to
hacking the original function, and am aware of the problem of losing that
customization when upgrading MapGuide.

One other issue I have is caching of my xmlhttp request. I can work around
this by adding a random parameter to the query, but realize this is a hack.
I am now experimenting with adding cache control headers on the server side.
Does anyone know of the best way to achieve this (fully cross-browser
compatible)?

Thanks

Thanks for that information, Praveen, but I cannot get it to hook onto the
right event properly, and I'm beyond the limit of my Javascript knowledge
here. ajaxmappane.templ has the function RequestMap() which was where I
placed my code, and which worked. However, I can see no corresponding
OnRequestMap onto which I could hook my function. RequestMap always seems to
be called directly, rather than being assigned as a variable, so I cannot
copy it and append my function. Or I might be totally misunderstanding how
this all works.

Can anyone else tell me if there is a way to hook my own function onto the
RequestMap() function without hacking the original function itself?

Thanks

2010-04-14 Thread Ivan Miličević
Of course that you can. You can do it on several ways.

Please, look at in ajaxmappane.templ and mainframe.tepml and if you can't find
anything that's related to your problem then you can ask for help.

It's look like that you don't even try to solve a problem by yourself.

You're hopeless :/

Try this: parent.parent.rows = "0,*,0,0";

You need to change "" an atribute "rows".

RE: [mapguide-users] Re: Edit WebLayout Problem

2010-04-14 Thread Ivan Miličević
I think that you are missing some basic knowledge about JavaScript principles.
For long term, it's better that you just sit and read/try some good tutorials.
The people who is reading this mailing list don't have patience for every
problem that you have and mostly of them is pretty much the simple one. So,
please, I'm going to help you but you must learn by yourself otherwise you are
going to be annoying and nobody will listen you anymore.

You can hide it from taskpane (for example):
window.frames.mainFrameset.rows = "0,*";

In file framesetnotaskbar.templ or framesettaskbar.templ (it depends..) give
the main frameset a name "mainFrameset" so that you can reach it from
JavaScript.

And for other questions based on this topic, Google is your best friend:

RE: [mapguide-users] RE: OnMouseWheel Zoom in and Zoom out

2010-04-14 Thread Ivan Miličević
You can change it from Tak pane. That is variable just as every other.

Try with this: window.frames.viewerFrame.mapFrame.yourVariableName = true or
false;

So, here is code. You can copy/paste it over existing in ajaxmappane.templ. Be
aware of inEditMode variable.

//this is the key
var inEditMode = true;

function HandleMouseWheelEvent(delta, event)
{
//if you are NOT in editing mode
if(!inEditMode)
{
if(!mapInit || mapLoading)
{
return false;
}

//Clear any existing map redraw events
if(wheelZoomTimer > 0)
{
clearInterval(wheelZoomTimer);
wheelZoomTimer = 0;
}

if(wheelZoomDelta == null)
{
//Determine the cursor position
wheelZoomCursor = new Point(msie ? event.clientX - mapPosX :
event.screenX - mapPosX,
msie ? event.clientY : event.screenY);
if(wheelZoomCursor.X < 0)
{
//Do not process wheel events in the property or legend area
return false;
}
wheelZoomDelta = 0;
}

//Determine the desired change in zoom
wheelZoomDelta += delta;
var currentScale = CalculateScale();
var newScale = GetNewScale(currentScale, wheelZoomDelta);
var zoomChange = currentScale / newScale;

//Determine the center of the new, zoomed map, in current screen device
coords
var screenZoomCenterX = wheelZoomCursor.X - (wheelZoomCursor.X -
mapDevW/2) / zoomChange;
var screenZoomCenterY = wheelZoomCursor.Y - (wheelZoomCursor.Y -
mapDevH/2) / zoomChange;

//Adjust the existing map image to the new scale and location
w = parseInt((extX2 - extX1) * metersPerUnit / (newScale *
metersPerPixel));
if(w > 2)
{
w = 2;
}
h = parseInt(w * (mapDevH / mapDevW));
var xClickOffset = screenZoomCenterX - mapDevW/2;
var yClickOffset = screenZoomCenterY - mapDevH/2;
xi = parseInt(mapDevW/2 - w / 2 - xClickOffset * zoomChange);
yi = parseInt(mapDevH/2 - h / 2 - yClickOffset * zoomChange);
img = document.getElementById(msie6minus ? "img1div": curimg);
if(img)
{
imgs = img.style;
imgs.position = "absolute";
imgs.left = xi;
imgs.top = yi;
imgs.width = w;
imgs.height = h;
}

selImg = document.getElementById(msie6minus ? "selImg1div": curSelImg);
if(selImg)
{
selImg.style.position = "absolute";
selImg.style.left = xi;
selImg.style.top = yi;
selImg.style.width = w;
selImg.style.height = h;
}

//Update scale displayed in status bar
parent.OnScaleChanged(newScale);

//Reload the map at the new scale. 500ms delay to allow for more
//mouse wheel events.
wheelZoomCenter = ScreenToMapUnits2(screenZoomCenterX,
screenZoomCenterY, true);
wheelZoomScale = newScale;
wheelZoomTimer = setInterval(WheelZoom, 500);
}
else
{
//if you are in editing mode...
return false;
}
}
