[mapguide-users] FDO for shp!
Hi List! I need to connect to shp files in a remote computer, either in LAN or internet; In mapguide studio 2007 (trial version), data connection there isn't FDO provider for shp although in providers.xml I have the appropriate part for shp. In map agent, set resource I introduced the "content" xml file, It worked very well for the shp files of my computer, but when I change the shp file directory to a LAN address, the feature source is shown in studio but shp files can't be accessed through studio. Does anybody have an idea, how can this be done? Thank you very much Kenneth, GEOGRAF A/S for patiently answering my question, I tried what you said. The providers.xml could not be displayed using IE! the error was this: "Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet." My fdo.dll version is 3.2.0 and although the providers.xml include the lines for 'fdo provider for shp' and 'fdo provider for sdf' these two are not shown in 'data connection' window in mg studio! This is usually the local system account. It will not have access to any network drives you have set up, and will use the local account for remote authentication. In other words, unless the files are in a share with anonymous access, it will probably not get access. Perfomance wise, I would also recomend against using files from a network share. Re: [mapguide-users] [Mapguide studio]?
Thanks for your help Kenneth, GEORGE A/S I actually would like to see if I can make a weblayout from shape files and display it in http://localhost:8008/mapguide/... by writing PHP code and without using mapguide studio. Is that possible? Thanks in advance, "Kenneth, GEOGRAF A/S" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: I'm not sure what you want to do. There is no studio involved in displaying a map. You can just browse to a layout (mine is called Layout1, and is in the root folder in studio): http://localhost:8008/mapguide/mapviewerajax/?WEBLAYOUT=Library://Layout1.WebLayout If you want to remove the Login box, you have to copy paste some code from one of the Viewer Samples (.Net, PHP or Java). If you want to design another map without studio, I would advise you to try out WebStudio. If you feel *really* adventurous, you can try the http interface, but you will have to be a programmer or similiar to go that way.
