 Hi sriram007,
There are many relative paths in mapviewernet folder , you need to
change them accordingly. Most of the time you have load template files in
these aspx pages those relative paths have to be changed i guess...
though i never did it myself.. i hope it help you.. best of luck .. ..
please post changes here as when you are done .

Hi all user .
i have doubt from many days , is it necessary that i create my
application folder under www folder( installed by mapguide msi) ?
can we create my application as separate virtual directory ( not under
mapguide virtual directory shown in screen shot of sriram007) ?
if yes , any pointers

Thanks & Regards,
Satish Kumar Pambala

2010-03-11 Thread Dave Wilson
There are relative path references inside many of the templ files in the
viewerfiles. If you have changed any of these and copy them to another folder
as instructed you should change ALL of the relative references to ensure the
new folder is using your modified files.

I replaced the code inside the E:\Program
Files\OSGeo\MapGuide\Web\MGCoustom\viewerfiles\taskbar.templ
For making invisible the "close task bar" button

visibility:hidden;" onmouseover="HoverButton('btnClose', '')"
onmouseout="LeaveButton('btnClose', '')" onclick="parent.CloseTaskBar()">
   ../stdicons/transparentpixel.gif

And that "close task bar" button is not displaying for all the application
inside MG_Custom Virtual directory
But not for the appliacation inside the WWW folder

that Means i think it is pointing to the E:\Program
Files\OSGeo\MapGuide\Web\MGCoustom\viewerfiles only

Are your sub-virtual directories inside MG_Custom pointing to their
respective sub folders in your copied physical path?

ie. /MG_Custom/mapviewernet -> E:\Program
Files\OSGeo\MapGuide\Web\MGCustom\mapviewernet

Also is the ASP.net version set to 2.0.50727?

[mapguide-users] Re: Is it possible to maintain a separate viewerfiles for a project

2010-03-10 Thread SriRam007

thanks for ur quick reply with lots of description

I copied the www folder (from E:\Program Files\OSGeo\MapGuide\Web\www) and
pasted with "MGCoustom" name inside the Web folder only
(new path is (E:\Program Files\OSGeo\MapGuide\Web\MGCoustom)

Then I created a virtual dirctory (Name "MG_Custom") by taking this path
E:\Program Files\OSGeo\MapGuide\Web\MGCoustom

And Now the dotnetviewersample inside the MGCoustom folder which was also
there inside the www folder is displayed
then i went to the property window of dotnetviewersample and created the
application name. And I set the default document page is
"ajaxviewersample.aspx"

But while browsing the application is not showing

Error :
Server Error in '/MG_Custom' Application.

The virtual path '/MG_Custom /mapviewernet/ajaxviewer.aspx' maps to another
application, which is not allowed.

what might be the problem???

thanks

[mapguide-users] Re: Is it possible to maintain a separate viewerfiles for a project

2010-03-10 Thread Jackie Ng

You have a virtual directory called /mapguide

This is created in IIS by the installer. This points to your physical path:

E:\Program Files\OSGeo\MapGuide\Web\www

What I'm saying is to copy this physical path to another directory of your
choice.

eg. E:\Program Files\OSGeo\MapGuide\Web\custom_www

Then in IIS create another virtual directory eg: /mapguide_custom

Make sure this virtual directory maps to your new physical path above, and
has the same IIS settings as the original /mapguide virtual path.

Do your required customisations in the copied directory.

To use the original ajax viewer, use your original url:

eg. http://localhost/mapguide/mapviewerajax/...

To use your customised ajax viewer, change the virtual directory in the url:

eg. http://localhost/mapguide_custom/mapviewerajax/

Copy to any other path you like. Just be sure your 2nd virtual directory
points to this path.

Viewer files are global for a single mapguide installation. Since you're
using .net, the easiest solution is to copy the www directory to a separate
folder, and create a new virtual directory from that folder that is
identical to your original /mapguide virtual directory.

Then you can do all your customisations in one virtual directory while the
other one remains the same.
