MI Changing the Cursor for adding nodes
Hi All, I would like to change the cursor used when running the M_TOOLS_ADD_NODE (1723) function. I have an operator that is capturing and amending data from colour aerial photography and is finding the crosshair difficult to see. I have tried adding 'Cursor 134' to the mapinfo.mnu file but this didn't work. (134 being the number for the MI_CURSOR_FINGER_UP cursor) I have tried issuing a command like: alter buttonpad "Drawing" add toolbutton calling 1723 cursor 134 but this doesn't work either and I now suspect that function 1723 changes the cursor to the crosshair when it is run. Have I overlooked something simple? Has anyone managed to change the drawing cursor to something other than the crosshair? Any help would be appreciated. Help reading IKONOS imagery with MI
Hello List, I've just rejoined this list after (FINALLY) upgrading MI off my Solaris (UNIX) platform, and am pleasantly surprised at how much MI has improved since v. 3.0. The one thing that I haven't (yet) been able to figure out (and can't find any references to in the MI-L archives) is how to automatically register IKONOS GeoTIFF imagery in MapInfo. RE: MI and Visual Basic
Jason, Do you have Mapbasic? If yes, the code samples in the manual are good enough to get you started. If no, you will probably need to get it as it includes all of the help files, include files, manuals, sample code, etc. that you will need to make your life a lot easier. RE: MI Setting label angles
set map layer ReplayTable Label Position Below (orAbove/Left/Right) is correct; it can apply to the all map. But set map layer ReplayTable Label Object LabelID Angle 45 requires an Identificator after the ID. The angle keywork is part of the subclause ID as the position in part of the clause Label. It means that each object requires its own angle. To make things more frustrating, the Position key word can also be used in ID subclauses. Why shouldn't it be the case with Angle? I guess because of the idea that labels are mainly used for street naming and that the option of parallel labels results into possible different angles for each label. I am not defended MI, just trying to understand, and most certainly your query should be put on the wish list (I have not checked v6.0 yet for that) Jacques Jacques PARIS e-mail[EMAIL PROTECTED] For MapInfo support, see the Paris PC Consult enr. site at http://www.total.net/~rparis/gisproducts.htm -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Bob Rosen Sent: August 14, 2000 12:45 PM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: MI Setting label angles I'm trying to use MapInfo 4.1 (for a legacy application) to rotate labels. RE: MI Setting label angles
Hello Bob, I'm pretty sure that you can only set label rotation for specific labels, not all in a layer. Try performing a loop which goes through every object in your layer. This however, may not be practical for large table. RE: MI LAYER_INFO_NAME and ObjectInfo
Hello Eric, You need to use an "alias". Although you have assigned szLayerName a table name, you cannot access .obj from it. The rule-of-thumb is that if you have a variable containing a table name, you need to use an alias to get any fields from that table. When an alias variable is encountered, it is interpreted literally by MapBasic. The following should work: Include "MapBasic.Def" Dim szLayerName As String dim ObjAlias as alias szLayerName = LayerInfo(FrontWindow(), 1, LAYER_INFO_NAME) ObjAlias = szLayerName+".obj" Fetch First From szLayerName Dim obj_type As Integer obj_type = ObjectInfo(ObjAlias, OBJ_INFO_TYPE) Regards, Warren Vick Europa Technologies Ltd, U.K. http://www.europa-tech.com > -Original Message- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Eric Frost / HR and > Associates, Inc. > Sent: Monday, August 14, 2000 6:10 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: MI LAYER_INFO_NAME and ObjectInfo > > > > What is wrong with this code: > > Include "MapBasic.Def" > > Dim szLayerName As String > szLayerName = LayerInfo(FrontWindow(), 1, LAYER_INFO_NAME) > > Fetch First From szLayerName > > Dim obj_type As Integer > obj_type = ObjectInfo(szLayerName.obj, OBJ_INFO_TYPE) > > I have tried all sorts of work-arounds like assigning the object to an > object variable and Run Command but have not hit on the solution. > > Thanks in advance! > > -- > To unsubscribe from this list, send e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and put > "unsubscribe MAPINFO-L" in the message body, or contact [EMAIL PROTECTED] > -- To unsubscribe from this list, send e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and put "unsubscribe MAPINFO-L" in the message body, or contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
RE: How to use .tar data with MI
tar is not a data format. it is a unix compression format like .zip .arj .ace etc. you can use winzip to extract the data file from the .tar file. Then it depends on what format the dem is in for how you get it into mapinfo. Mike Lepage, B.Sc.
