MI-L Text Object

2000-10-31 Thread Holroyd Engineering Services

Is there a way to determine the size of a particular Text object
programatically?

I have a layer which contain Text object of various sizes on one layer. It
is too much information, makes the resultant print out cluttered. However
seperate the various size groups into its own layer would be of use when we
print in various scales.

Simple question.
How do I get the RowId of a selected row?

All I want is a variable with the RowId of the selected row for future reference.

Hmm.. Eddie, I really do not know but it occurs to me that a window that
is neither maximized nor minimized must be floating like an ordinary
window.
But of course you had considered that.

MI-L saving a clipped region

2000-10-31 Thread Carolyn White

Mappers,

Okay, I just *don't* understand what is really happening with a clip region.

I have created a clipped region of the US highway map. It includes the
Highways for the state of Mississippi and some small area outside the state.

I can't seem to save justed the clipped region of the highway map. I can
save the workspace and get back the view of the clipped region upon
reloading the workspace. But whatever I do when I save what appears to be
the clipped highway tab file, upon reloading the saved file displays the
highways for the entire US.

So, this says to me that clipping is a visual thing, not an actual
operation. Is that correct? Or is the real clipped file hiding somewhere?

Alternatively, once upon a time the Kevin M... tools included a tool to clip
streets at a target boundary. I haven't been able to get it to work since
version 3.

I looked at the tools at Directions tools, but nothing obvious jumped at me.
Am I just doing this wrong or do I need a tool, or what?

Re: MI-L HTML Maps

2000-10-31 Thread Bob Young - www.bydesignwales.demon.co.uk

Dear Eddie

At the top right of most windows are three little boxes. The left of
these ( like a letter box) minimises your window. The right of the
three closes your window ( and clears all its resources ) .

And the one in the middle...

Toggles between maximised ( ie filling the screen ) and
normalised.

Normalised could fill the screen but normally does not. If the software
author create the window so that it could be resized then you can "drag"
it to new sizes.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Bob

Re:MI-L HTML Maps

Eddie,

It just means you can make an HTML image of a "Maximized window". Try "Tile
Windows" from the "Window" menu. Should work just fine now.

MI-L V6.0 oddity

2000-10-31 Thread Frangooles, Bob

I just noticed that when using the "Copy Map Window" menu choice to copy and
paste a map window into Excel, region objects that are set to transparent
will not be part of the image that is displayed in Excel. If the object is
changed to use a solid fill, the region object will be visible.
