MI HELP!
Hello! I'm getting an error in the geoset manager that says "Found (A string constant) while searching for (A numeric constant)." Does anyone know what this means? I was updating zoom levels for a few layers on my .gst file and now I'm stuck with this error. PLEASE HELP ME!!! ;o) Thanks, Greg -- To unsubscribe from this list, send e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and put "unsubscribe MAPINFO-L" in the message body, or contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
MI Query problem
I have a table with zipcodes and distances for each of 40 branches. I can get the closest branch for each zip but I need to retrieve the closest two branches for each zipcode. I'm using 'finding the closest point' on p.23 in Advanced Mapinfo Workbook. Any suggestions? MI StreetPro
Hello list! I have a question in regard to StreetPro. Can you add layers to the Autoloader template? I have saved and created my own template, but would like to add additional layers. Help? MI E00 Translation/Projection Troubles
Hello Group! I have a question in regard to a E00 file I downloaded off of the GIS Depot web site. I translated the data with MapInfo's ARC=>MAPINFO mbx tool with no problems, except that I can't get the projection I want. I have a map of Alaska, and I want to add a nice boundary file of Russia. The free boundary that comes with MapInfo is terrible (my scale is large), but the one from GIS Depot is very nice. I just can't seem to get it into my map! I've tried to translate the data with a LAT/LONG projection, but I doesn't work. I've also tried to save the file as a different name & a different projection, but the same problems. It only seems to work with a Non-Earth projection. Any suggestions??? Thanks! Re: MI MapInfo to pdf
Hello Declan. I had problems with Adobe Acrobat 3.0, but since upgrading to 4.0, I've had no problems at all. The quality is nearly identical. Do the pdf files look pretty true to the originals? Does printed output of the pdf file compare well with printing direct from MapInfo? I've yet to try it but it seems that combining pdf files might be a good way to get map illustrations into reports with reasonable quality (better than saving windows as files) if the map pdfs retain printer quality. MI Label question
Hello list - I have a question in regard to labels. I'm using USGS quad tables, and am trying to angle the labels @ a 45 degrees ... not just a few labels, but thousands. I tried using the autolabel function, placing the labels on the cosmetic layer as objects, then rotating the labels with a .mbx for the MapInfo-L site. This did not produce acceptable results the text was too large & only grids in the map window were labeled. Is there a way to change the label orientation in MapBasic, rather than selecting the label one at a time? Thanks so much! MI Projection woes
Hello list! I'm having a problem with radii (circles) and projections. Let me briefly explain so that I can hopefully get some advise! I am creating radii around branches (stores) that meet a specified sales threshold. The sales data is by Zip code geography. The radii were originally created in a Lat/Long projection. The map is of the lower 48 states. So, I changed the projection to equal-area. Now the radii are distorted. They still appear round, but have changed in size and are covering area's that were not covered in the previous projection. Is there a way to keep the radii from not being altered? Re: MI 5.5 and Excel 97
John, It has been my experience that this is "normal" for MapInfo. Why 16,385? The old Excel (prior to Excel 97) was limited to 16,385 records. My guess is that MapInfo has not adjusted to Excel 97 limits (65,536 records). Just a guess though. It's not your machine. When I open the same file as a dbf file, the browser shows all the records. This normal or just my machine?
