MI Create Graph Wizard -Table drop-down list

2000-05-31 Thread sglennie

I'm using MI Pro v5.5. I've attempted to create a pie graph based on a
table of data that I've geocoded. On step 2 of the Create Graph Wizard
dialogue, the table drop-down list shows only the default table of American
Census data. How can I make the other open tables appear on that drop-down
list?
Thank you,
Steve

MI Sum- symbol distortion

2000-04-17 Thread sglennie

Thanks to everyone who wrote and helped with the problem (at the end).

Most popular explanation:
I used MI custom symbol fonts that she didn't have on her computer. When Word
couldn't find the appropriate font, a substitution occurred. The closest symbol
available was used to display point symbols - hollow squares.

Most popular solutions:
Install the MI fonts on her computer (if the license
permits).
or Copy the MI fonts from C: \Windows\fonts folder to
coworker's computer.
or Go to Start >settings> Control panel> fonts copy
desired file go to other computer
   Start >settings> Control panel> fonts>
file> install new font
Other options:
Save a layout window as a WMF and then choose
Insert>Picture>from file... in Word.
It converts symbols to shapes which would appear properly
on the other computer.
or Copy map window>Word>paste special>picture>don't float
over text.
Then go into Word>Tools>options>Save>Embed TrueType fonts.
Basically, paste special breaks
  connection between MI and Word.
or Use the legends .mbx It creates embedded legends in
the window.
or Try downloading the latest drivers for the printer
being used.

I work with MI pro v5.5. I use little dot symbols to plot the locations of
types of customers on a map of the US. When I save the map to Word and send it
to a coworker in another dept. for color printing, the little dots appear on her
computer as larger hollow squares. And when she prints the map, the dots appear
as hollow squares. The hollow squares defeat the effect of what I'm trying to
present colored solid dots.
When I print to my dept's b/w printer, it comes out with the appropriate dots
(although w/o color) even if I save it to Word. She's the only one in the
company hooked up to a color printer and I'd like to have the maps I make
printed in color.
So, the Question: Is there an adjustment that can be made to the document or her
computer or the printer to prevent the dots on the map from turning into hollow
squares?
Thank you,
Steve
