Hello, I think the explanation you are looking for used to be on the FTP-site (http://www.directionsmag.com/mapinfo-l/IndexFiles.htm), but I couldn't find it there anymore. There were some files detailling the generation of streetinfo files, generated by Bill Thoen. It's probably the best idea to contact him directly, otherwise I'll try to dig out my copy of the files (provided that Bill doesn't mind...)
