file, save window as, choose metafile
open in word, a graphics program like ACDC, or powerpoint and print PDF

We are trying to output from MapInfo 5.0 through PDF Writer 3.0.  I select
PDF Writer in the Print menu, and send the output, but MapInfo answers back
"Cannot print".  Other applications (WordPad, Word, ...) write .PDF's
without problem.

Any ideas?

Claude,

Do not use PDF Writer. It has problems in general and Mapinfo problems
specifically. The file size is also very large.

Use Distiller. Print your map to a file using an Adobe Postscript driver
(the Tektronix 350 driver works great, but you will ant a different one if
you are doing large format) and then Distill it. It looks great and prints
great.
