SWM, 23, 6'-1", 178 lbs., new to MapInfo, seeks to convert polygons/regions to points/grid. Using MI 5.5 and Vertical Mapper 2.0 (upgraded from 1.5). When I use the Region to Grid function in VM (as previously suggested on the list), the following error occurs: 'File Open has Failed.' No new files are created and the region to grid interface closes. I've tried this with the file containing the polygons open, with it closed, with the regions highlighted in the map file, with different grid cell sizes....in short, every combo I can think of. And still I get the same error message. I'm running on a Pentium 500, 256 Mb RAM. Any clues?
