When we are printing a document from MI to an EPS-file, Illustrator is not able
to read it. Normally we run it through Acorbat distiller and Illustrator is
normally able to read the PDF-files but we have experienced the same problem as
Matthew, with white lines segmenting the underlaying tiff image. Another wierd
thing about Illustrator is that adobe Illustrator is not able to read the same
eps files as Acrobat distiller is. And EPS-files made by PS 4 on a W95 machine
makes nice PDF-files that Illustrator reads well while EPS-files made by PS5.12
on a NT_machine makes nice PDF-files in distiller taht cant be read by
Illustrator. The conclusion is that there are several problems with Illustrator
understanding both eps-files and pdf-files from MI. We havent solved any of the
above problems. We can only hope that the eps-translator in Ilustrator 9 will be
better or that the PS-driver for NT and W95 will be updatet soon, wherever the
problem is.
