Here is a brief response to your query.  Both Vertical Mapper and deciBel
Planner are products of Northwood Geoscience Ltd. and both run inside the
MapInfo environment.  Vertical Mapper adds the raster GIS component to
MapInfo allowing users to generate continuous surfaces (grids) from point
information.  Once created they can then be analyze, edited, and visualized
in many ways.

deciBel Planner takes the same grid technology and applies it to the
telecommunication industry.  In fact the Vertical Mapper product is included
with dBPlanner but the name is changed to "Surface Analysis".  It uses grid
technology to help RF engineers plan, optimize, and maintain a wireless
communication network.
