RE: MI Antigen
Yep, all of the servers are pretty crazy right now! Your message to me got to me before the MI message of mine - it hasn't been allowed through yet (no doubt by our server!). Someone asked about duplicate messages - probably at your server level. It is occassionally happening to me and from past experience have determined that it is usually my server not MI (though the MI server did go crazy once or twice!). What the antigen is, is a virus detector and it is at the moment deleting ALL image files that come my way and then letting the sender know that it has been deleted. If it gets to be to much for the mapinfo-l group I will disconnect my self from the group and start up later. We are clean and healthy here, the antigen is a precautionary measure to keep us that way. Title: Antigen found =*.* file Anyone know what this is? I must have received a dozen copies. I delete and it keeps coming back! I'm worried its some kind of virus activity? RE: MI Antigen found =*.* file
Wade, I think this is probably an auto virus type response from the Exchange server at that particularly institution. With the "love bug" virus making the rounds, most of the institutions are doubling up virus protection and many are using auto responses when they find a virus. In this case, the auto response must be going out to the entire list. The list owner and the institution probably have no control over this auto response and best to just hit the delete key.
