Re: MI-L EasyLoader error while loading tables to Oracle Spatial
Try change the decimal separator to '.' dot in Regional setting of your Windows setting. I had the similar problem and this solved it. MI-L HP Plotters
I currently use an HP755cm to plot my mapinfo files. Looking to get a new plotter. I am looking at the HP 1055cm or the hp 5500 42". Does anyone have any opinions about either of these or which is better? Thanks in advance. Re: MI-L General processing question...
Dear Ben, I think that your problem cann't be solved. From my experiences, MapInfo has not defined the solution for the number of the range equal to 1, but ONLY for the number of the ranges equal or higher than 2. I think, that is the reason why the problem occurs. I recomend you to solve this problem within your application. Somethink like: if number_of_ranges < 2 then select * from ... change style of selected... else Create Ranges From ... end Hope this help you. MI-L MapInfo Proviewer 7 and the Intranet
I am having difficulty getting Proviewer to open a workspace on IIS 5/Windows 2000 Pro. I have IIS configured to open up pdf files but it can't seem to find the path or security permissions for the workspace and tab files. I want my intranet users to be able to download proviewer and click on a hyperlink to my mapinfo workspace file. I have configured the client pc's to open .wor extensions with proviewer. All my tab files and workspaces are in the IIS web directory. Has anyone done this or have any advice. Thanks. MI-L Pushpin
Hi all, I'm new to the list and really new to MapInfo so need a little help! My application (VC++ 6.0) has do show a pushpin (any symbol with a label) of a specific latitude-longitude pair on a map. Well, if I'm right (please correct me if not) I have to write a macro with MapBasic and call the 'Do' method on my DMapInfo COM object. Can anyone give me a little example or a good starting point! MI-L General processing question...
In MapBasic how do I avoid the 'Unkown Error' when trying to use Create Ranges From table with expr Use "Equal Count" Number 1 Round 0 Into Variable array_variable ? The problem is the Number of ranges is dynamic and can be anywhere between 1 and 5. However when it is 1 the error occurs. MI-L Creating a combined Map layer.
Hi all I am after some advice on creating a combined map layer for OS (Ordnance Survey) data e.g LandLine, and MasterMap data. The data supplied by OS every 3 months is translated into individual MapInfo tables for all features Eg Buldings, general peck, roads etc. Users dont want to have to open individual tables, they want one combined layer that shows common OS data. Our current procedure is to copy and paste data from the required OS tables into one MapInfo Table. As you can imagine this is a rather long process. We have experimented with using a seamless layer but users complained that this was too slow in redrawing when they panned accross. Does anyone have any advice on a quick method of creating a combined map layer or handling indidual Map tables? Re: MI-L MapInfo 7.0 / SQL-Server 2000
Hi group, thanks for your many personal replies to my question. Unfortunately no hint could help so far. Is it possible, that our client operating system (Windows NT 4.0, SP 6a) is not suitable?! I have been testing on this problem for several days and checked every option available, but it does not work! Any further ideas on this issue?! RE: MI-L Text to Points
or you can do it the easy way... didn't spot this reply. always trust me to come up with the anal convoluted process. -Original Message- From: Ryan Morgan, Aerials Express [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, 27 August 2003 3:58 AM To: Hooper Sarah; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: MI-L Text to Points Hi Sarah, You can create points from your text provided your text is stored as a separate layer (use the label functions tool if you labeled in the layer.) Once you have a separate layer with all of your labels in it, add two more columns to the table. Since I like working in Lat Lon, I would label them Lat, Lon. Now, you can update the coordinates by using the update column command in the table menu. In the value box find the CentroidY(obj) command for Latitude and CentroidX(obj) for Longitude. Now, save your table and make a backup. Go into the table manager and uncheck 'Table is Mappable,' you'll loose your labels, but that's why you backed them up. You can now use the create points function to read the latitude and longitude coordinates the centerpoints of your labels had, and create the points! RE: MI-L Text to Points
you'll have to setup your own loop or code depending on the kind of table it is, but effectively for a single selected text object you can query out the X and Y by finding the min and max values and getting the average. then create a new point with those coordinates. i think that will werk. for instance this will give you the bounding box of the text object: # MinX = ( objectgeography ( selection.obj , 1 ) MaxX = ( objectgeography ( selection.obj , 3 ) MinY = ( objectgeography ( selection.obj , 2 ) MaxY = ( objectgeography ( selection.obj , 4 ) ## from there you can get the POINT of it: ## AvgX = (MinX + MaxX) / 2 AvgY = (MinY + MaxY) / 2 ## and then you can create a point: ## Insert Into YourTable (obj) Values ( CreatePoint( AvgX , AvgY ) ) ## of course this can all be done with a single line of code, but this keeps it simple enough to read, and indeed post on a forum where my code will be line limited to 72 characters. ash -Original Message- From: Hooper Sarah [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, 27 August 2003 2:02 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: MI-L Text to Points Hello, I have a table with a list of location names.
