MI-L RE : RE : RE : MI-L RE : MI-L open Access database with mdw security

2005-01-07 Thread Christophe Brabant
1) it crashes even if I try to open table within Mapinfo dialog
2) the table I try to open is very simple : juste one table Table1 with
three fields. First is a String, second numeric, and third yes/no
3) I have tried with differents drivers, but all are same version (in the
ODBC Manager Tool)

I'm running under Windows NT4 SP6, perharps it works well under XP... I'll
try...

Do you want to see the content of .TAB file generated by Register Table ?

Crashing is very popular with Mapinfo and ODBC :-(

It can have different causes:

1) Try opening the table with the mapinfo dialog to check if its a
programming problem or a mapinfo / driver problem.
If it works with Mapinfo Dialog, its not a driver problem, then its in
your source code...

If its a driver problem:
2) Try another ODBC driver, the one which comes with Mapinfo or the
native windows/microsoft driver, maybe you have to play with the odbc
driver options. Start the odbc driver administrator to look at the options.
3) maybe your table has bad fields, i think Memo fields are a problem.

This is all i can say from the distance...

Hope that helps

regards,

Markus

Christophe,

i think it is documented but it is very hard to find.

In the documentation of Register Table there is a link to the function
Server_Connect() and in the doc of these the DLG clause is documented
as a hint.

Try the following:

Register Table mydsn
  Type ODBC
  Table Select * From mytable
  Connection DSN=mydsn;DLG=0
  Into c:\windows\mydsn.tab

That should prevent the Dialog from appearing, it works for Oracle
Connections, i dont know whether it works for access as well

I have found that :

Create a User DSN mydsn into Windows, with the .mdb and .mdw files.
Then :

Register Table mydsn

 Table Select * From mytable
 Connection DSN=mydsn
 Into c:\windows\mydsn.tab

Open Table c:\windows\mydsn.tab

Problem : Register statment ask me to choose a File DSN, instead of
automatically use the DSN I have specified into the ConnectionString

Any Idea ?

Hi everyone

I would like to open and register a MDB file, with security managed
by a MDW file. Security is NOT included into the database. I don't
see wich parameter should contain the path and name of the MDW file.

Thank you

MI-L DOQQ display error

2005-01-07 Thread Hickman, Josh
A good Friday to you all!

I am having a little trouble with DOQQ's today and wondered if anyone else had
run in to the same.

I have a DOQQ that is in UTM zone 17 NAD 27. I have DLG topo data that is in
the same projection. When they are overlaid there is approximately a 590'
north - south discrepancy in the two files. Any ideas of why this is
occurring?

I am guessing that the issue lies with the DOQQ because the DLG data plots fine
with the other non-raster/image data I am using.

Cheers!
