[MI-L] Cadrg Files
Hi I have a number of CADRG raster images that MainInfo v8.5 documentation says it now supports, however, I can not find the option to import these files in any of the open/import table options. Do I need a special tool or have I overlooked the obvious? thanks Greg ___ MapInfo-L mailing list MapInfo-L@lists.directionsmag.com http://www.directionsmag.com/mailman/listinfo/mapinfo-l
[MI-L] MapInfo v8.5
Hi Listers I have been invited to a forum where the much mentioned MapInfo v8.5 will be unveiled. Can anyone give me a background on what new and exciting features will be revealed? [MI-L] Mr Sid files
Hi I have a number of MrSid files with associated SDW files that I want to import into MapInfo v8. Can anyone advise me if I can import the file with the coordinates already registered, similar to importing a Geotiff file - or do I have to register the raster image manually. Thanks Greg ___ MapInfo-L mailing list MapInfo-L@lists.directionsmag.com http://www.directionsmag.com/mailman/listinfo/mapinfo-l
[MI-L] Create Points MI Dialog boxes
Hi all, Hoping someone can help me with the following, I want to have access to the Excel Info dialog box when I import a spread sheet from MS Excel. >From that point I then want to access the Create Points dialog and alter that box to allow a third field to be displayed and used for drawing an object. In short - I want to select a range from my spreadsheet, keeping the headings columns and then draw lines using the modified Create Points dialog ( the additional field is for the direction of the line). I think I need the proper name for those dialogs and the ID? Hope this is clear and all help appreciated. MI-L Tracking in MapInfo
Hi I am using the Geotracker tool to plot my position on a map within MapInfo and all works well. My next step is to receive NMEA data from an alternate Com port and and also display this info on the same map. Unfortunately there can only be one instance of Geotracker per MapInfo session. I know that there is only one animation layer available in MapInfo, however, does any one know of a tool or code that will allow me to plot my second position onto the same map? thanks for your help regards Greg
RE: MI-L MapBasic Compatibility
ML's Thanks to all of those that replied, The always helpful Uffe Kousgaard and Bill Donaldson both similar solutions to edit the mbx with an editor that allows binary mode editing. Thanks to David Mellors and Nigel James pointing me to the free utility from Stopwatch Maps at http://www.stopwatchmaps.com/products/mbxver.html. MI-L MapBasic Compatibility
Hi Listers Has anyone noticed a problem with backwards compatibility running an MB app compiled with MapBasic 7.8 on an earlier version of MapInfo (7.0, 7.5).? I recently tried to run my app in MI 7.5 but received an error message telling me I need MI 7.8 to run the app. This is strange and I haven't added any code to the app that makes use of the new features in MI 7.8. I cannot find any documentation or reference to say that it won't work. In fact everything hints at the opposite. regards Greg
MI-L Coordinate Extractor
Hi Listers I am looking for a tool or code example that will extract the x,y coordinate of the starting node of a Line object from a table of line objects and insert the values into an existing or new column. The tool would be similar to the Coordinate Extractor supplied with MapInfo, however that only extracts the Centroid x and y of the line. Any tips are always appreciated regards GG
MI-L Selecting Region objects
Hi All Is there a simple way to select different types of objects from the Cosmetic layer? In particular I want to only select the Region type objects, then detect overlaps and remove all except the overlap portion. Thanks for any help Greg
MI-L Making Pie Sectors
Hi Listers Can anyone help create a pie shape sector or region through MapBasic? The sector would be based on a point, to line angles and an arc between the two lines. all help appreciated regards GG
MI-L MapBasic Differences
Hi I am currently using Mapbasic v6.5 and have heard of newer versions v7.0 and v7.5. Can anyone tell me the differences between the three versions and whether it is worthwhile upgrading to the newer versions? v6.5 does what I need at the moment but if the others offer more functionality I would be interested discovering what it is. Thanks Greg P.S. I know .Net is coming but I will deal with that when it arrives. - List hosting provided by Directions Magazine | www.directionsmag.com | To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Message number: 12368
