MI-L Hot Linking

2002-01-14 Thread DON

HI,

I am using MI's Hot Linking tool to link photos to a table of =
polygons. I would like to link more than one photo to each active =
object and have not been able to do this. Mostly I have tried to =
specify two files in the Hotlink field. MI does not like this. Is =
there a way to do this?

In the MIPro 6.5.0.3100 Maintenance Read Me, Pt.111. Enhancements and
Fixes/Misc. Incident No.19038. It says "The HotLink tool did not work
correctly when two columns in the same layer contained HotLink associations.
This has been corrected."

I have not yet tried this but wished to do the same as you Don. Please SUM
if you get any more info. on this.
More than likely you will have to duplicate your object and link the other
photo that way?
Chris

A workaround, and possibly not the answer you're looking for, is to hotlink
to a file containing several photos, for example a HTML file which can
contain (or at least reference) any number of photos and can also link
forward to other related files/images.

Re: MI-L Hot Linking

2002-01-14 Thread PEM

Another way of doing this is to add the table to the map several times and
for each time point the Hotlink setting to another column.

When activating the HotLink tool on on of the objects in this table, you'll
get a list of the possible files, you can choose to see.

Of course you'll need to save these setting to a workspace as MapInfo only
can save a single HotLink column to the table.

Re: MI-L Hot Linking

2002-01-15 Thread Caroline Hilton

Hi

A tool has recently been developed which hot-links to digital images, in
just the way you want. It also allows you to add metadata to your images,
and acts as a database so you can view, catalogue and search all your images
even when you don't have MI open (or if you don't even use MI!), then link
from them to MI Pro as and when you need to.

It's called ImageLinker, and is from Exa-min in Australia, but should be
available from your local GeoBasemap reseller (see www.geobasemap.com). You
can get a free 30-day evaluation copy by contacting Exa-min, or from me if
you're in Europe. The software isn't expensive (about US$300) and is
extremely useful. See the Pelican GeoGraphics website for more info.

MI-L hot linking tab files

2005-03-24 Thread Eli Y. Kling
Hi,

I am sure someone has a tool to do this:

I have two tab files that share the same ID field. However one is a boundary
file (polygons) and one is just points. Moreover they are on different
projections.
I want to be able to select a point on one map and see the corresponding
object selected on the other map.

Thanks & happy Eater/Purim,

Eli
