create a file and name it verion.txt for example
in the file
put the size of   your   .mb   file
and version number

when the application runs
open this file and read this two info
compare with .mb file size ( if the file exists , if not do not change
anything)
if not same size
increment the Version and write to version.txt

it is not that much good idea but it may help
