[mapserver-users] WMS and transparent
I am trying to consume this WMS service with MapServer 5.0.2 as a client and would like to make the background transparent instead of white. Is this possible mapserver? I tried the wms_transparent true, but that didn't seem to work. Thanks for any suggestions. Hi, jpegs can not be transparent. Only if you switch to another image format like image/png. Yeah maybe OFFSITE can do this for you, give it a try, it works for normal rasters so why not for a WMS client layer (haven't tried though). Best regards, Bart Thanks for the reply. I was hoping maybe MapServer could consume that jpeg and set the white color to transparent, then mapserver would output a PNG that has transparency to the web client. Hi, Or perhaps OFFSITE will have difficulties because jpeg compression makes totally black to almost black.
