qlayer is one layer only. If you really need to query an adhoc
collection then you really need to ditch STATUS DEFAULT for queryable
layers and use the layer and/or layers params for both drawing and
querying. Does make sense? We could consider extending things like
your example (multiple qlayer or qlayers) but those aren't available
now.

How about using WMS GetFeatureInfo and list of layers as QUERY_LAYERS?

I know that this is a simple question, but I can't find any confirmation.  

If I want to do a point query on multiple layers, I know that I can set all 
layer STATUS to DEFAULT.  

Is it possible to query some of the layers (status=ON) by identifying them in 
the URL.  For example, something like qlayer=layer1,layer2 or  
qlayerS=layer1+layer2?
