In the united states, a non-profit, that is neither a private
foundation, nor a religious organization is obliged to provide, upon
request, a copy of the form that they submit to the IRS.

No reason for the request is required.

OOo had many Non-Profits around the world some of them with a budget,
I wonder if you have knock on their door and have them as
contributors? I would think of French, Italian and Japanese groups
could have a space on their budget to participate with the cost and
get some benefit from it.

So I will give you now a first overview about those figures:

Since Sep, 28 we recieved a lot of small to very small amounts of money
mainly via PayPal - so PayPal charge some fees of each recieved amount.
The sums are:
recieved from Sep, 28 to Sep., 30 :939,76 EUR
recieves form Oct, 01 to Oct, 15  :709,36 EUR
additional recieved via bank account:  201,00 EUR
Founds summery:  1.850,03 EUR


Costs since starting up the Foundation:
Mainly hardware (Server) cost and domain-registration, up to now:
467,07 EUR
Fees for trademark "LibreOffice" and "The Document Foundation":
 1.800,00 EUR
Costs for the layer (not payed jet) appr.
 2.000,- EUR.
Sum costs:   4.267,07 EUR

That means, up to now we do have a deficit of appr. 2.400,- EUR.

OK, what I missed: we got lot of small ammount donations (10 US$, 5 EUR,
20 CAD, ...), but there is no ammount higher then 100 EUR. All donations
we recieved from privat persons - I did not see a company transfer.

We do have a lot of "support statements" on our webside - but those
words did not follow any actions...

Looking forward to set up the foundation it is not done with "nice

OOoDeV has been part of the OOo community, and many projects that needed 
legal backing have been done with OOoDeV. The PrOOo-Box has been one of 
them, but it is a community project, not only an OOoDeV project. Not 
everyone involved is an OOoDeV member, as far as I know.



On more then a few occasions in exchanges at OOo it was made clear to me
that the organizations behind the websites was not OO.o - but was
affiliated with it, loosely.

Will that site be changing it's name then?

members meeting, with a change of the name and a change of the policies 
(as they contain the name OOoDeV). This will take a while, until it is 
voted on and approved, but my personal opinion is that it might happen.



Actually let me be more precise - in reading the front page of that site
the other day it seemed to say that ooodev.org would be renaming in
order to become the new holder of the TDF entity, legally speaking. Is
that an accurate reading of the text there - I used a translation tool
so it would not surprise me if I am somehow mistaken.


OOoDeV is the interim legal entity, holding assets for TDF, until TDF is 
established as a legal entity itself.

http://www.ooo-portal.de/


Not related to us, don't know what they intend in terms of rebranding.

When you this was the OOo project isn't more appropriate to say it was
the project of http://www.ooodev.org/ ?

On more then a few occasions in exchanges at OOo it was made clear to me
that the organizations behind the websites was not OO.o - but was
affiliated with it, loosely.

I assume that this is similar to what the CD distributor at
http://www.8daysaweek.co.uk/forums , where he also maintains a forum for
install support.

Yet it is different, unless the two site ooodev and ooo-portal are run
from the same organization, which from what I see in a different thread
they are not.

But still I'm now wondering then is ooo-portal going to be re-branding
also? Perhaps, as I say, you are not the correct person to ask on this
last point.

When you connect to the page you will see, on the upper right hand side, 
 "thread index", "date index" and list of pages and ways to move 
between the pages.

This depends on your mail client.

In Firefox/SeaMonkey there is an option in "View" - "Sort" - "with 
threads" (or just click on the heading showing a single mail sign 
turning into a stack of three mails).


Most other clients have this option too.
