We used to have meetings of the marketing group and the localization
group, and also a media training for the community members who were
willing to participate.

I would try to organize the community day in a more structured way than
in the past couple of years.

If possible, I would have a media training / public speaking training in
the late morning (I know that there are people interested), then two
parallel tracks where we have BoD / ESC meetings on one side, and the
marketing / localization meetings on the other.

This of course would round up nicely the community day.

Yes, we use to have the NLP/l10n meeting here too. And as I said, this
was added when several members discovered too late about that day
because it was not advertise, or they thought it was private.

Right -- there are actually 2 issues here:

1) The primary conference events/talks start on the 3rd, not the 2nd

2) The term "community day" may be confusing. We have meetings for ESC
and the Board, but (AFAIK) not for other parts of the community.

A good policy :-) So what would make sense for us? What about adding
something to the 2nd?

- A meeting or two for the community (QA? Docs?)

- A small event later in the day for both the community and other
attendees? Perhaps just meet up for drinks?

Cheers,

I'm worried the logo of the event having the date 2, it seems that the

Sorry for my observation, but I think the communication needs to be very
clear. We need to think about the people who are not part of the community.

You're right but when the program will be online, it will be clear that
the first day is a community day and I guess those people out of the
community will look at it before coming. And if I remember well, on the
old time we didn't took this day into account for announcement, but this
was confusing too for the community.

Hi :)
It does look a lot better with the 3 or more fonts? This is for a
single event isn't it? Is it still bad practice to use 3-4 fonts if
the logo itself is not going to be around for long? It's more
eye-catching with the mix of fonts.
Regards from
Tom :)

I am sorry to say, but the trend towards using three and more typefaces
in the logo is not a good one. (Safwan's logos use two, Eleonora's seem
to use four, yours [KJ's] uses three).

I wouldn't actually mind if the logo lost the Helvetica part of years

+1. Branding consistency works like repetition for pedagogy. We can afford to
be more liberal only when our brand is well known. And yet most of the changes
should convey a nuance of sorts.
