Hello Sergio,

Chris is boarding, because he will attend at Flock (here's his talk [1]),
so he won't reply sooner.

We are glad for your interest in the "wiki" and "release schedule" in the
marketing projects, and you have to know we're planning for a
meeting (after Flock) in which we will finalize all the tasks and roles
within the group.

Stay tuned and attend next meeting (date and time will be notified in
our ML).

Please read back last meeting log [2], so you are updated about mktg
work in progress.

Comment:

Actually, HTTPS is needed to keep the authentication tickets a secret.
It's fine that FAS authentication is encrypted but when the ticket is
passed around for authentication purposes in WP in the clear it leaves
your authentication open for attack (and could leave other services
vulnerable that use FAS for auth). This is a known attack vector and I
believe we've seen some attacks in the wild with this.

I'm not going to Flock, so I can take a look to this page; but what do
you think about spreading the page to others ML, so people can add
themselves to the list?
How can we treat people that want covering the same talks?

FLOCK coverage idea

2014-08-04 Thread Ryan Lerch

Hi all,

After the success that was Jiří's coverage of GUADEC, i have been
looking at the incoming links from other websites, and it seems that the
majority of incoming links to his posts were for coverage on a
particular talk.

So, my idea here would be to do individual posts for each of the talks
that we are going to cover at FLOCK. This approach will also make it
easier to assign a specific talk to a writer so we don't have multiple
people covering the same talk.

I have created a draft wikipage here:

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Marketing/FlockCoverageOnFMAG

to track who will be covering what.

I have also added a few guidelines for the content at the top, but this
is really just me throwing out a few ideas, so feel free to change /
remove anything from there.

Also, do we want to prefix (or postfix) each post title with a tagline
(maybe "[FLOCK 2014]:") or something so its clear what the post is about?

cheers,
ryanlerch

Yes, as jzb said, FAS is not required for contributing in each group of
the Project.

FAS is useful for keeping track of people involved into groups,
especially in Marketing group, because since long time people used to
subscribe mktg group and then they disappeared.

Because of this, asking for membership and showing commitment is a
way to consider a contributors as active.

Again it doesn't mean, as jzb says, that people can't do works
although not members.

Obviously we'd like people increasing to make this group increasing,
for that we ask to follow the FAS way, joining the group, The Marketing
group will follow the work and then will approve membership.
