Any restrictions on use we need to be aware of, or is it cool to grab
one and whip up a header graphic out of these?

Hi, I was referred here by #fedora-websites. The RSS feed for the Fedora
 Magazine does not validate anymore:

.

Thunderbird 38.3.0 (on F22) doesn't let me add the feed anymore, claiming
it is invalid. The last time it was able to fetch the feed was the "What

Fedora Magazine Badges

2015-11-04 Thread Ryan Lerch

Hi all,

Not sure if you all know this, but we have a few badges for contributors
to the magazine.

We have one for contributing a post:
https://badges.fedoraproject.org/badge/extra!--extra!

and 3 for if your post reaches a certain number of pageviews:
1000 views --
https://badges.fedoraproject.org/badge/clickbait-fedora-magazine-i
5000 views --
https://badges.fedoraproject.org/badge/clickbait-fedora-magazine-ii
25 000 views --
https://badges.fedoraproject.org/badge/clickbait-fedora-magazine-iii

Note too that the majority of posts on the magazine get a minimum of
1000 views, so if you contribute a post to the magazine, you get 2
badges pretty much straight away!

The one thing about this is that these badges are all manually awarded
-- so if you think you have a post that meets any of these requirements,
hit us up on the list here, and we can check it out and (hopefully) get
you one of these badges!

Yep.. I've used pandoc in the past to convert my posts for Fedora Magazine.

The html file looks good. I included it in wordpress as a draft.. Can
someone work on an Ansible logo for the featured picture for the post
and maybe push it to production?

Bug in the post series widget

2015-11-04 Thread Ryan Lerch

Hi all,

just a heads up there is a bug in the post series widget that shows the
posts in the sidebar even if they arent published publicly.

I'll try to get a fix for this done this week, but in the meantime, we
can work around this issue by only adding the post to the post series
just before publishing.

Hello all,

Today has been a crazy day, but definitely in a good way. For those of
you who hadn't seen or heard with the Magazine, we continued the trend

puts us somewhere 2,000 above the F22 release!

Big thanks to everyone who put in the effort for the release: mattdm,
stickster, ryanlerch, jzb, and plenty of others who put in their
cycles today - and another big thanks particularly to puiterwijk for
helping keep the site up with all of the heavy traffic today!

Looking forward to working with you all this next release cycle. :)

Hi all,

One last thing I noticed before I headed off the bed - seems like one

ISOs to a USB drive for install has had a surge in popularity today.
Might it be a good idea to do a touchup and bump it back to the top of
the Magazine for this week? Seems like it's a valuable article that
could help bring in some more attention.

http://fedoramagazine.org/how-to-copy-the-fedora-install-dvd-to-a-usb-drive/

Thanks again.

Yeah, i think this one could definitely do with a refresh, and a repost.
There is also one by paul that covers the same topic, but in screencast
form.

The stats bump is probably because the What's new in Workstation post
has a link to the older USB article at the bottom. This is also
interesting, because it is right at the bottom, so at least a few people
are reading the whole post :)

Hi -

The best place to ask would be on the Zanata mailing lists -- they are
their own project :)

http://zanata.org/mailing-lists/ -- I am guessing that the users' list
is probably the most appropriate place.

I did do a quick search of http://zanata.org/ and didn't find anything
obvious about trademark usage, but I may have missed something :)
