If you're going to do this article Sylvia there's two things I'm very happy
to see in F24 ...

A usable Wayland session - I've been Wayland only since I upgraded at beta
and it's been a pleasant experience for the larger part

Docker 1.10 - this handles selinux enabled containers with a btrfs storage
engine so I can get great efficiency of disk plus stay secure when doing
container stuff

Hey Sylvia,

Just wanted to let you know that I didn't mean to be passive aggressive in
any manner (read my previous reply n felt it kind of seem like I was), was
just trying to say that someone might have already taken up the task. I'll
share with you the docs result later.

Thanks for helping to continue this article!! :)

IMHO other important questions are:

* How often will access to a password be granted?
* How often will access to a password be revoked?

[Marketing] Password storage and distribution needs

2016-06-01 Thread Justin W. Flory

Hi all,

A while back, we were brainstorming ideas for password storage and
distribution for things like the social media accounts and possibly
other items later on.

When the topic was brought up at an Infrastructure meeting, a few ideas
were tossed around, but in order to find a solution that works best for
us, we need to come up with a few basic requirements for what we need
out of a password management solution.

Some of the questions that would be helpful to devise a solution for
this dilemma:

* How many people will need access to the passwords?
* How much data would be stored (e.g. how many passwords, for what
services, is it small-scale or large-scale, etc.)?

Anything else you might think of as useful would be great to add in so
we can come back to the Infra team with more specific requirements.

Thanks all!

Agreed. The timing was pretty rough with the Holiday, and with PyCon.

2016-06-01 Thread Justin W. Flory

On 05/31/2016 04:16 AM, James Hogarth wrote:

Hi guys,

Since jflory liked the look of my blog post for an article in IRC the
other day it's now been polished up as a Fedora Magazine article with
that audience in mind.

It's currently in draft state and can be seen here:
https://fedoramagazine.org/?p=13166&preview_id=13166

I'm trying to think of what imagery I could add to it but struggling a
little in this department. Perhaps pictures of the koji build and bodhi
update? or a snippet of the ansible playbook running?

I'd be happy to link to the playbooks on github if people think that's
sensible (I've removed the links to my blog that discuss how the dynamic
inventory works as I suspect my little blog may not survive the traffic
directed at it) ...

Could you please give it a look over and let me know your thoughts on it.

Cheers,

James

Hey James, I just read over the draft and this looks great to me! I
actually learned a lot reading it and I think it should be a good fit
for the target audience on the Magazine.

I haven't had a chance to review it for edits yet, but I think we have a
little bit of time until then to do that. I think we could probably get
this one out next week.

As for screenshots, I think maybe some of ownCloud might be useful here,
such as maybe one of the ownCloud AppStore when you mention it. However,
I think the ideas you mentioned would be great for specific to
packaging. Koji and Bodhi are good ones to grab, and the Ansible
playbook one sounds like a good idea too.

We'll make sure we cover this one at tomorrow's meeting. :)

Hi everyone,

if you are still interested in new contributors, I think I can help. Let me

I'm João Marcos Bizarro (you can call me John), from Brazil. I am a software architect and I work with Fedora

wrote some guides for my company like "How to install PHP 5.3 in Fedora 22" and "How to
install and use Docker in Fedora 22". Anyway, I can help developers with tutorials, guides and bugs.

Looking forward to your comments.

Hi John, welcome to the Fedora Marketing list! Sounds like you have a
good start for some ideas to write about already. That's awesome!

To get started writing for the Magazine, you'll want to start by writing
a pitch in the Fedora Magazine. You can learn more about this process here.

https://fedoramagazine.org/writing-an-article-for-the-fedora-magazine/

https://fedoramagazine.org/writing-a-new-pitch/

Once you have a pitch drafted, drop a line to the mailing list and we'll
review it before giving the all-clear on whether it will work for the
Magazine. If you have any questions about getting started, feel free to
ask at any time! Can't wait to see what you come up with.

I think this idea should be doable. I'll make sure to bring it up with

Okay, I don't think we could write an article about the Media Server setup or
install, but using the client might be something that would still be doable if
that interests you (wouldn't hurt for Paul or Ryan to double-check me on that
one to be sure).

Netdata sounds like a neat idea for an article. If you have other ideas or want
