 Subject: automatic move to next spreadsheet

 Dear Sir
 I use Openoffice spreadsheets and would find it handy if the next or
 following spreadsheet was suggested when updating a list of
 spreadsheets.
 i.e. if BASK011 has been amended,saved and I wish to save and
 go to the next
 BASK012 it would be a great help and save time if next file
 name  be shown
 in the box used for opening a spreadsheet.
 Best regards

I think this is a typical task for a macro automation not for a change of AOO
itself.

Are you familiar with macros?

If not, use a forum such as:
http://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/

or you hire a supporter, see:
http://www.openoffice.org/bizdev/consultants.html

or inform yourself about macro programming, a good start is eg

Greetings,
Jörg

 I am not sure how can we predict ther is a BASK012

You can separate the file name and read character by character from right, as
in Basic as follows:

i = 0
do
   i = i + 1
   tmp = Right (filename, i)
loop while IsNumic(tmp) = True

If LEN (Right (filename, i-1)) = 1 Then
   '--here is a file name, with number at the end, found
end if

But I think this is a typical task for a macro automation not for a change of
AOO itself.

Jörg
