I mean, if distros also put their donors there, why would people want to pay us for space instead of distributors? Or what if a distributor patches the about dialog out? How can we preserve the integrity of the dialog? A guideline? Good will? I use Ubuntu and they do not patch gnome-about. They have another menu entry, called 'About Ubuntu'. I think if we talk to distributors our wish of having them not touching gnome-about they will respect that. Re: New donators roles
Diego You bring up a very good point - from my perspective if distros want to use this tool for campaign contributions that is fine too and maybe be better as well as a single channel for fund raising for (all parties involved). This opens a challenge for us to develop a decent set of guidelines on how Gnome and Distros work on soliciting donations - so that we (Gnome Distros) dont look like spammers :) Any one from Distro side on this thread - can you comment? GNOME 3.0 party
GNOME Marketing list, While we were in Zaragoza, they offered to host a GNOME 3.0 release party in their Digital Water Pavillion[1]. We should probably start thinking of how we want to coordinate and run the release parties.
