It sounds like a list of files found in GNOME but I don't want to assume. :) closer to addons.mozilla.org- information (including updates, news, etc.) about applications available for GNOME. One of those multiplier things that creates a lot of value by giving everyone who does a GNOME program a place to shout from. But also had a very low barrier to entry, which meant that it became about as useful as Freshmeat at one stage. I'd say that ideally a replacement would have functionality similar to a.m.o- ratings (including download counts and perhaps some sort of 'maturity' score based on the duration and number of updates) and probably some editorial component for the front page. a.m.o is powered by Remora (https://wiki.mozilla.org/Update:Remora). I had a look at the code at some point, and it seemed to be hard coded for Firefox and Thunderbird. However, there has been some efforts from SugarLabs to modify the code to be more suitable for a generic software map[1] - I'm not sure what the status of the project is right now. Re: Testing the cms candidates
While Greg is right when he says that we can't choose a CMS without knowing many planning details, it is also clear that if we want to try them ourselves first we need to install them etc, and this takes time anyway. Let's see. Who can help installing and setting up these CMSs? - Drupal - http://live.gnome.org/GnomeWeb/CmsRequirements/DrupalEval : we have an outdated version of CivicSpace at http://gnomedotorg.ourproject.org/ barely documented at http://live.gnome.org/GnomeWeb/Platform . We can get rid of the old version and install something fresh. I can provide access to the server to someone willing to do the install. I can do the install if required. Linux Asia 2005
Hi all, Linux Asia (http://www.linuxasia.net/) is one of the major Open Source related conferences in South Asia, and it is going to be held in New Delhi from February 8th-10th. I will be giving a talk on administering GNOME (especially for medium to large scale deployments), and will be covering (mostly) gconf, sabayon, etc. I'll be also helping organise a BoF session on GNOME at the conference. I was wondering, if there was some kind of GNOME branded template that I can use for the slides (preferably something with 10x10 written on it - so that I can explain that concept to people as well). I tried out live.gnome.org, and the links to the templates in the MarketingMaterial section are giving me 404 :-(. GNOME at Asia Source
Hi everyone, I am at Asia Source at Bangalore (http://www.tacticaltech.org/asiasource), an eight day hands-on workshop aimed at building the technical skills of those working with NGOs in South and South East Asia. All the systems in the lab (at least the migration and the l10n labs) currently have Ubuntu installed, and except for a few laptops, I have not seen many non GNOME desktops around. We are using GNOME for the Migration Track, and there are people using the Linux desktop for the first time, and they seem to be absolutely comfortable with it. Thanks, Sayamindu -- All men dream: but not equally.
