Also on the FAQ and Try It pages, you shouldn't use this page as a hyperlink
-- bad for accessibility, and just generally for anyone quickly scanning the
page. The link text should describe where the link is going.

I kind of feel the same as Dave, but having nothing better to say I have
kept quiet. I mean it's always easy to dislike something (for good or
bad reasons), coming up with better however is another story.

Since I like the inspirational part of it, how about:

GNOME-3 - The inspirational desktop for the rest of us

GNOME-3 - The utilitarian desktop for the rest of us

GNOME-3 - Where utility and inspiration merge

GNOME-3 - Free, utilitarian, inspiring

GNOME-3 - Free, simple, elegant - the desktop for the rest of us

GNOME-3 - Designed for utility, elegance, and freedom

GNOME-3 - So easy a caveman can do it

Yeah, I agree, let's just not add any tagline for now and just put it out

www.gnome3.org launch

2011-01-17 Thread Allan Day
Hi all,

We're pretty much at the stage where we can launch a preliminary version
of gnome3.org. Ideally, we'd set a launch date and circulate a press
release in advance, so that sites and blogs can break the story as it
happens [1]. I had originally planned to take care of this, but I've
realized that I probably don't have the time to get it done quickly.
This leaves us with a choice: either we delay the site launch further
(sigh), someone else steps up to do the press coverage, or we launch
without it. What do people think?

We also need to make some kind of decision about the tag line before the
site goes live. One option here is to remove 'made of easy' until a
replacement is decided upon.

Best,

Allan

[1] Thanks for the marketing tips, Stormy!

The re-spin isn't going to happen tonight. I just finished beating ffmpeg on

tomorrow because the rpmfusion packages are 9 months out-of-date.

So, shooting for tomorrow evening.
