[MARMAM] Short-term internship - Coastal and Marine Conservation and Management
MareTerra Environmental Research and Conservation (www.mareterra-erc.org) offers a short-term internship focused on conserving marine and coastal species and habitats. The program of activities is suitable for students and recent graduates and is realized in a real-world scientific research context. From the 17th to the 24th of September 2023 you can join our organization to live a highly educational experience in contact with the fantastic nature of Sardinia, learning and working with an international group of professors, researchers and students. Marine Research Summer Campaign - Where: Alghero, Sardinia. - Program duration: 8 days. - Dates: 17-24 September 2023. - Training hours: 75 hours in the field + 25 hours of individual study. - Number of participants: from 12 to 24. What you could do by participating in our activities: - Observation, photo-identification and acoustic and behavioural data collection on dolphins. - Collection of environmental, oceanographic, video and acoustic data. Identification and measurement of fish species abundance. - Identification of marine species and habitats through boat surveys, snorkelling and hiking in nature. MareTerra Environmental Research and Conservation is accepting interns to join research projects on the conservation of bottlenose dolphins and the marine environment from May to October 2023 in Alghero (Sardinia island - Italy). MareTerra is a non-profit organization created by passionate people committed to promoting the conservation of nature and sustainable development. Our internship is a unique opportunity for students and graduates to learn research methods (photo-ID, Bioacoustics, GIS) for the conservation of the marine environment in Sardinia island, the hotspot of biodiversity of the Mediterranean Sea. Working in an international context, our interns will play an active role in environmental education to develop awareness and respect for marine conservation among tourists and locals.
