I have spent hundreds of hours reading about the blockade of Gaza, the murders of Mahmoud Shaalan and Rachel Corrie, the intifadas, the checkpoints, the BDS movement, and more, but I was still shocked by what I saw in the Negev desert. The Bedouin are continually displaced and disenfranchised by the state — and too often, they are also erased from the mainstream Palestinian narrative. [Marxism] Lorde cancels Tel Aviv gig

She has also said that she's not too proud to admit that she made a mistake in originally intending to play there. Nice contrast to the arrogance of Nick "It's all about Me, Me, Me" Cave. Lorde's decision follows an open letter to her by two young women in NZ, one Jewish and one Palestinian, along with lots of support for their letter and lots of calls for her to not play Tel Aviv.
