The author of the article, Alexander Mercouris, is a well known pro-Kremlin
propagandist who was disbarred by a UK court for telling a series of bizarre
lies:

http://www.stopfake.org/en/russian-media-columnist-alexander-mercouris-struck-off-over-claim-that-senior-law-lord-had-him-kidnapped/

"Mercouris, a former Citizens Advice Bureau worker who was called to the bar in
2006, wept as he admitted five counts of bringing his profession into disrepute
through misconduct."

If accurate, it does reflect well on the Putin government. I would be
interested to hear comments.

A Home for Every Russian: How Putin Delivers on the Russian Dream
Russia is in the throws of a housing boom that is transforming the country and
hugely increasing its sense of well-being but which has gone completely
unreported in the West.

situation improves and living standards rise, demand is increasing in Russia

Hi Craig,

Paul Avrich's Kronstadt, 1921 is the gold standard, as far as I'm concerned. A
scholarly work that gives the perspectives of both the rebels and the
Bolsheviks. It's a great book. - Mark

Hi Craig,
i don't think of "a" good history but in the first link below are all
the essential readings and more. The second link is to what i
consider a reasonable evaluation of the two, Trotsky and Serge, who
were key protagonists in debating Kronstadt.

Amith,

You are mistaken. Radio Svoboda has no connection to the Ukrainian political
party, Svoboda. 'Svoboda' just means 'freedom'.

Uhh, excuse me, why is MarxMail being used to send out fascist/Neo-Nazi
propaganda? This is straight from Svoboda, the far-right Ukrainian party.

"I'm more concerned that Bernie, who is slated to lose the primary unless
dramatic changes take place within the next month or so..."

Has Amith been asleep for the past couple weeks? Sanders is up in both Iowa and
New Hampshire, with all the wind (and Killer Mike) at his back. Even the
mainstream pundits now say he has a serious chance of winning the nomination.

"Because he said these things about Cuba before he had become housebroken."

He said them again last night in the debate, and didn't back down from the
comments he made in the 80's. I think that was the point.
