From a friend in Brazil:

Marina Silva is just self-proclaimed leftist. She represents all the
agendas of the right wing: she's from the most conservative church of
Brazil (the same from where Feliciano came from, that racist and
homophobic priest who assumed the human rights commission last year to
represent the rights from the minorities that he despises), her
economists are from Brazil's largest right-wing party, her campaign
funding comes from the heir to the largest bank in Brazil, during the
period she was environment minister her husband was prosecuted for
illegal timber trade, she is in favor of creationism in schools, she is
homophobic, she believes that the rights of minorities should be decided
by popular vote (which makes no sense: the majority decides the rights
of minorities?), it is against the legalization of marijuana, she argues
that women trying to make abortions should be criminalized... in one
word, she's definitely not a left-wing politician.

I forgot to mention that her economic plan comes down to give full
autonomy to the central bank.

Besides all that, she's an evangelical committed to the most backward

I have grown skeptical of Marina Silva after seeing her endorsed by some
unsavory Wall Street types. Yes, she is good on environmental issues but
she is committed apparently to neoliberal reforms, not that the
Workers Party is any bargain.
