Just came across a reference to this in an article by Ella Shohat, an Iraqi Jew who teaches media studies at NYU. Sephardic Jewish children who were part of the "population exchange" of the 1950s were subjected to radiation treatments in order to rid them of ringworm. The consequences for some was brain tumors later in life.
