The impeachment hearings are the third of three key events in the Trump presidency. The other two were his inauguration and the confirmation hearing for Brett Kavanaugh. Each of these ramped up the politics of blind anger and violence. Meanwhile, the Democrats are hoping that there is sufficient faith in the old stability and cooptation to get themselves elected one more time.
