I have to think all those articles I was reading about Morsi calling for a 'no-fly zone' in Syria were actually signals that he was no longer in control of the Egyptian government. Go back to March, about the time he lost control (when he went overseas): http://www.presstv.ir/detail/2013/03/19/294377/egypt-calls-for-end-to-syria-crisis/ So Morsi's sins deserving US-backed ouster: 1. Of course it could be read as a last-ditch attempt to avoid ouster--toeing the line on Syria as set down by the US, which supplies the Egyptian military and provides food aid. Morsi was, after all, a politician.
