Re: [Marxism-Thaxis] Charles Brown: Merry Christmas Baby & Please Come Home For Christmas
At Ye Olde Yard speakeasy, the Xmas decorations stayed up all year round. It was Christmas everyday. We used to have Xmas parties in July. The Yard was a permanant party itself, may it rest in peace. Re: [Marxism-Thaxis] Charles Brown: Merry Christmas Baby & Please Come Home For Christmas
I used to have to wait to catch this on my local blues program every December: sometimes I'd hear it, some years I'd miss it. But thanks to YouTube, it can be Xmas every day. (I detest Xmas, though.) The key to the song is in this verse: "i ain't like the old saint nick, he don't come but once a year . . ." When I used to sing it, the punchline would be . . . "I'm back door Santa, I come every time you're here."
