Re: MC keyboard having troubles with Suckless Terminal (st)

2020-07-12 Thread Bob Currey via mc
I found an old link to similar symptoms, where a guy couldn't reproduce the
problem because he was running tmux.

https://midnight-commander.org/ticket/3344

So I tried it with st -e tmux and the problem no longer occurs, and the disk
drive no longer fills up with logs.

Thanks

1. Clicking mouse on menu or options, column headings, or Function key buttons
doesn't work.
2. Function keys, like F9 for pulldown, doesn't work till I tap it three times
3. Once the top menu is up, arrow keys only work sporadically, and after a long
delay, if they work. No way found to pulldown the second level menu
4. If I can get a dialog box up, keying in the fields and getting it to run
doesn't work.

All of this works fine under ROXTerm on the same machine (Dell XPS I7 running
antiX19.2 with IceWM). I'm just wondering if I need any special configuration
for st to make this work. I haven't made mods to st other than font selection
and screen size. MC is listed under "stuff that rocks" on the suckless site,
BTW, so I would think that it's frequently being used by people running
suckless tools.

MC is my most commonly used (and Favorite) terminal based program, so it is
painful for it not to work right.

This is already done:
https://midnight-commander.org/changeset/1f4b5ae3962729b6fa5998a9ee02c5b9da88cfe0

It will be available out-of-box in the new release in a few days.

Feel free to submit a patch if this commit is incomplete.

Editor syntax highlighting for Arduino *.ino source code files

2020-07-12 Thread Keith Roberts

Hi all,

I'm using the Arduino IDE and I think the language is a subset of C++.

Can I add a syntax file to MC to allow the editor to highlight C++ code
in the *.ino source file?

Kind Regards,

Keith Roberts
