Re: Any missed features?
I absolutely don't want to dissuade anyone doing business with Sebastian, but please bear in mind that we can't guarantee that any code will be accepted into our tree, unless we deem it to be of sufficient quality. So far, unfortunately, we had very little luck, so in the end, you might need to use his fork instead to get your favorite feature. On Sun, 27 Mar 2022, Sebastian Gniazdowski via mc wrote: Hi. It has the current path, so that as one goes down through the directories, the path gets longer and the command line shorter. It is fixed and cannot be configured. It would be an enhancement if mc would allow dash/ash users to configure the prompt themselves. The dash prompt is quite simple and basic - it only allows constants. Sebastian, In mc, when I press enter on a Squashfs file it doesn't open. A feature that looks would be easy to add is VFS support for Squashfs files as suggested in ticket #3147, since the author had already got it working. I implemented what was shown and it worked very nicely. I can provide the details (its an old ticket so wasn't exactly as shown) for you. Re: Any missed features?
I have one suggestion that should be minor but which irritates me. When coping or moving file from one director to another and it exists in target directory the text box pops up with file name and choices. However depending on file name length the position of those choices moves. So if saying "no" to operation on files with longish names then a file with short name comes up, the "no" box position becomes "yes", a bit too quick clicking on mouse and oops. Similarly when a long file name comes up. "yes" can become "no" What I am trying to explain is the selection boxes are "left justified" but would be better "center justified" as is the file name. Regards, ___ mc mailing list https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/mc Hi, i'm often using the ftp features. But the named issue i'm seein' rather seldom, and if, not by timeout, but by such things as renaming or copying a file on the remote side, which is maybe impossible on some ftp implementations. Yes, timed out connections are an issue if the remote ftp (server) doesn't allow automatic reconnecting or whatever there is happening in the background). Otherwise i usually get an "directory not found" on the remote side, but i am positioned onto the ".." entry and ENTER key reconnects (or whatever it does) and i'm on the higher dir level. No real problem for me. I don't know what really happens in that case, whether mc really reconnects with a somehow cached pw or whatever, but it works for me.
