[bug #17268] Shift+Enter weirdness

2006-08-14 Thread Pavel Tsekov

Follow-up Comment #5, bug #17268 (project mc):

Inserting literal newlines when Shift+Enter is pressed in an input box is
actually a side effect. The input box widget uses the keyboard modifiers as a
flag to enable processing of pasted text (Shift-Ins, Shift-Mouse). This
processing includes converting the newlines that come from the input channel
to literal newlines. So applying a fix for Shift-Enter in the input widget
(WInput) would break the processing of multi-line pasted text. IMO pasting
multiline text in single-line widget is not very usefull but still its
there...

Comments are welcome.

Follow-up Comment #4, bug #17268 (project mc):

Okay, just for reference, I attach a better fix, this time it fixes the UTF-8
patches. Additional comment explaining what and why it does are on the top of
the patch file. I'll send it to the mailing list, too.
