Title: Unix/Linux Systems Admin-Clustering Location: Washington, DC
Position Length: Contract-Long Term Industry: Banking/Financial Role: Server Systems administration (Windows, Linux, AIX, Solaris, and Virtualization platforms), End-User Computing (engineering of software solutions for user access platforms), Disk Storage and SAN administration, Data Backup and Restore administration, Server Security administration, and operational and infrastructure components of business continuity; Strong Focus on Clustering, consultant must have significant clustering expertise. General Requirements: · 10+ years of experience in managing Solaris (2.9 or 2.10) and RedHat Linux (4.0, 5.0 and 6.0) software and hardware configurations. Certifications on this area are desirable. · Install and maintain up to date Operational System software, patch levels, firmware, drivers and related program products. Configure and customize software in accordance with site requirements. Suggest and promote System Changes in accordance with documented SOPs (Standard Operational Procedures). · Participate in “On Call” weekly shift supporting off hours and weekend activity. · Pro-actively review and monitor service indicators in order to insure adherence to agree upon service levels. Specific Requirements: · Working Knowledge shell scripting. · Excellent working knowledge in network trouble shooting. · Knowledge in VMware and Solaris LDOM virtualization technology. · Relevant experience configuring and maintaining Highly Available configurations of VERITAS VCS Volume Managers and File Systems (VERITAS FS), OS mirroring and OS replication. · Experience in supporting SAN disks, Volume groups and file systems. · Relevant experience in environments supporting Databases (Oracle and Sybase), including intimacy with DB concepts and operations. · Relevant experience or good understanding of WEB related technologies, including architectural concepts but also basic operational principles of applications servers, web servers, etc. · At least 7 years of experience managing mission critical Solaris and Linux systems with proven involvement in operations requiring for stringent uptime service level *Regards,* *Karan Tyagi,* *United Software Group Inc. 565 Metro Place S.
