Role/Responsibilities:
- Be part of a POC effort to help build out a new Hadoop cluster.
- Interface with various user groups to assess requirements and design
solutions to meet the requirements.
- Be hands on; Develop working, well tested prototypes and oversee handover
to operational teams.
- Constantly review and propose best practices/standards.

Experience:
- 7 or more years of development experience with Java and 3 or more years
of experience in Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence, or vice versa.
- 2 or more years of experience with Hadoop Clusters, including experience
setting up, configuring, and monitoring Hadoop file cluster.
- Expert knowledge of SQL (Both Hadoop/Hive and RDBMS)
- Working knowledge of Hadoop internals such as file storage formats
(Sequence Files, Columnar files, Parquet) and optimizing long running jobs.
- Experience working with a Data Visualization Platform like Tableau/Cognos
- Experience working with Cloudera and/or Hortonworks Hadoop stacks is a
must. Certification is a plus.
- Proven skills for developing and self-testing work
- Knowledge of the Big Data technology landscape is a plus.
- Knowledge of Health Insurance industry is a plus.
