*Job Description:*

The Business Process Management (BPM) Solutions Architect will support
application Enterprise Architecture within the Insurance domain for
Commercial, Consumer, Claims and other lines of business.  The Solutions
Architect role is a technical leadership position that requires strong
application design / development skills and excellent communication skills,
as well as experience in architecture, design, and support for
implementation of BPM applications in the Pega 6+ platform.

•          Support strategic planning activities related to BPM.

•          Assess opportunities for BPM fit and recommendations on options.

•          Create "solution snapshots" to drive assessment and estimation
of opportunities

•          Identify opportunities for use of advanced BPM (Pega) platform
features (e.g., advanced business rules, use of predictive analytics,
integration with knowledge management, use of guided workflow, etc.)

•          Design of BPM application architectures with a focus on
scalability, adaptability, low cost / time to implement and optimized TCO
(Total Cost of Ownership).

•          Ownership and maintenance of company’s BPM Reference
Architecture.

•          Ensure that projects and programs align with Enterprise
Architecture blueprints and long term strategies.

•          Promote and apply architecture best practices and standards at
the program and project level.

•          Work with technical and business partners to collect
non-functional requirements.

•          Establish and maintain the overall technical vision for the
project or program.

•          Create Solutions Architecture Document, architecture scorecards
and other key architectural governance documents.

•          Develop tactical and strategic integration strategies for
bridging legacy systems with new development on a variety of platforms
including:  Mainframe (IMS, CICS), J2EE, COM/DCOM/.NET, Oracle and packaged
software.

•          Promote enterprise services or COTS components where appropriate.

•          Promote reusable application patterns, frameworks and services
to improve consistency and reduce complexity across the enterprise.

•          Identify and address key project constraints and requirements
such as interfaces to legacy systems or packaged software, software
distribution capabilities, reuse of non-strategic components or special
end-user requirements.

•          Identify decisions at project/program level that could affect or
constrain long term IT strategies or TCO.

•          Manage and conduct design and post-implementation reviews.

•          Lead or participate in architecture assessments of other IT
projects.

•          Establish or review development, programming and deployment
standards and procedures.

•          Educate other team members on IT standards and Best Practices.



*Qualifications: *

•          Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or Engineering
required, Master’s degree preferred.

•          5+ years of experience in IT, with 3+ years of application
architecture or technical leadership experience.

•          2+ years of experience designing and supporting implementation
of BPM solutions in Pega; additional experience in other BPM platforms,
Kana Enterprise preferred.

•          Pega Certified System Architect (CSA), Certified Senior System
Architect (CSSA), or Certified Lead System Architect (CLSA)

•          Process design or optimization background or general business
architecture background

•          Experience with all aspects of application development from idea
development, planning and cost estimation through requirements, design,
development, testing, implementation and production.

•          Proficiency in designing and developing complex IT systems and
assessing and evaluating alternative solutions.

•          Good working knowledge of architecture and architecture best
practices.

•          Strong interpersonal skills.  Must be influential and be able to
work effectively on a project team.

•          Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Must be able
to communicate complex technical issues to all stakeholders, including
those who do not have a technical background.

•          Strong organizational / stakeholder relations maturity.

•          Self-motivated, with strong analytical and research skills.

•          Ability to be detail oriented, yet still be able to have clarity
on the overall picture.

•          Ability to handle multiple high priority demands.
