[MCN-L] Saint Louis Art Museum Mobile Tour RFP
SAINT LOUIS ART MUSEUM - REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS St. Louis Modern Exhibition Mobile Tour Project Description - Scope The Saint Louis Art Museum invites bids to produce a random-access multimedia mobile tour app for the St. Louis Modern: Architecture and Design exhibition. The app will consist of an introduction, 15 stops at artworks selected by the Museum, and a static page conclusion including sponsor and object credits. This project will utilize video, contextual images, narration, and interview clips as determined by Saint Louis Art Museum (SLAM) staff in consultation with the selected producer. SLAM Decorative Arts curatorial staff members David Conradsen and Genny Cortinovis will serve as the primary expert voices on the tour; up to 3 secondary St. Louis-based voices/personalities will also be included. This mobile tour will utilize only images and video provided by SLAM, who will secure all rights as necessary. The entire mobile tour must be both open and closed captioned. The mobile tour must be designed to provide analytics including total downloads as well as number of visits to specific tour stops, duration of visit to specific tour stops, option to leave feedback (i.e. rate success of stop) and other user metrics as determined by SLAM and selected partner. SLAM reserves the right to award part or all of the project to the vendor(s) it selects. Project Deliverables The vendor must deliver a self-guided mobile tour as a free app to be downloaded by our visitors via a cellular or Wi-Fi network to iOS and Android devices through their respective app stores. The mobile app must be available no later than October 23, 2015. Once installed, the app will be self-contained and will not require internet or other data access to function. The Museum retains all rights to the content of the multimedia tour as delivered, to be repurposed as needed. The app will be built in native iOS and Android, and will also be optimized for various sized handheld devices, i.e. tablets, phones, etc. Additionally the iOS and Android version specs will be from most recent to (backward compatible) the previous two. Proposal Requirements Proposals for the above project must identify key personnel and previous projects similar to the St. Louis Modern: Architecture and Design mobile app. Proposals must also outline creative ideas for offering visitors layered content and an engaging narrative as they tour the exhibition, taking into account the attached images and exhibition information. Proposals must include a detailed project timeline based on a September 1 project start date and the completed app available for download by October 23, 2015. Timelines should allow 5 days for the Museum's final review and approval of the tour, as well as any other interim review milestones. All proposals must include pricing and payment terms. If you have a preferred letter of agreement or contract, you may include it. Finally, the successful bidder must comply with the Unauthorized Alien Act and complete the required Affidavit. Proposals must be received via email to Ann Burroughs, at ann.burrou...@slam.org<mailto:ann.burrou...@slam.org> by noon on August 6, 2015. Any questions regarding this RFP should be sent by email to Ann Burroughs, by 5:00 p.m. on July 17, 2015. Responses will be shared by email with all RFP participants by July 27, 2015. Sometimes it stays in the app just fine, but if the app crashes or the iPod runs out of battery it can get out of Guided Access. Another alternative is to use Apple Configurator (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/apple-configurator/id434433123?mt=12), this allows you to really lock down a device into a specific app. We have found this to work much better at keeping the users out of other functionality.
