[MCN-L] what's been learned about making good online exhibits?
Hi, Does anyone know what has been discovered about creating engaging web-based exhibits? I've found some resources, but not as many as I expected, given how long museums have been offering exhibits online. To be clear, I'm not talking about public, online access to collections databases. I'm talking about the presentation of a group of items along with an interpretation of their meaning as a group. (We could argue about that definition of "exhibition," but maybe in another thread...) Do you have any information about: 1. who might be the experts in creating online exhibits? 2. summative evaluations of online exhibits? 3. places to look for resources? (I've searched this list's archives, Museums and the Web archive, a university library's catalog, as well as online.) 4. why there hasn't been more speaking and writing aimed at improving online exhibits?
