[MCN-L] Location base services in museums, seeking examples

2014-01-15 Thread Proctor, Nancy
Laurie Stepp has been conducting research into location-based technologies for
the Smithsonian. Her early findings and a link to some examples I published in
2005 are available here:
http://smithsonian-webstrategy.wikispaces.com/Location-based+technologies

We'd be delighted for others to add to the resources there or share further
links!

 Hi Trilce and all,

Several presentations at MCN 2013 addressed current location-aware
projects. One such project was the subject of the first presentation in
the session Where to Next? Emerging Practices in Location Awareness and
in Online Publication, which is now documented on YouTube:

 https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v1/url?u=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v%3Dda4wyr75jCkk=diZKtJPqj4jWksRIF4bjkw%3D%3D%0Ar=8GmW94BoTQ5deMlW3NSMRA%3D%3D%0Am=8PsEusSFeBW3Fjh6k46uQUnxlfq%2F8kGue8qyhPjNoto%3D%0As=ff2479280eb98eaeee315b9bb032c3c76e5d97256a31e65b150c219d00e0d3a6

There should be a few others among the MCN 2013 videos already on
YouTube or now making their through the production pipeline, so it may
be useful for your student to keep an eye on this page:
