I had also heard something about this new digital version, and that you will be able to do titling (to an MZ-R90/91) with it. If you (or anyone) finds a URL for the new device, I'd love to put it in the news. -Thanks, Rick Hi, just wanted to say I love your site and have some news for you to put on your website (I also posted it on the MP3 to MD discussion board). I asked Sony about their first announcement on the PC to MD cable being sold separately for $49.99 which is now being bundled with the MZR-37 and MZR-55. It looks like the USB cable bundle is analog, because Sony emailed me today and said while the USB cable won't be sold separately they will be selling a *digital* version in the spring (see below). Cheers, Shawn Dear Sony Customer: Thank you for contacting Sony. I apologize that Sony will not be manufacturing the ANALOG version (PC-to-MD Interface) that is referenced in this News Release. However, Sony will be coming out with a DIGITAL interface sometime after May 2000, and it will be sold as a separate item. Please advise if you have any questions, or if I may be of further assistance. Thank you for your interest in Sony products. Best regards, Sony Internet Department CM69 Original message follows: - Name: Shawn T. Brady Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Product Category 1: Accessories Product Category 2: Other Model Name: PC to MD Interface MESSAGE: I saw this news release on your site and was wondering when the item below will be available for sale. I know the item is being bundled with the MZ-R37 and MZ-R55 but I already have a Sony minidisc MZ-R91 and would like to buy the cable separately. Regards, Shawn PC-to-MD Interface: Internet Music Files Now on Your MD "A growing number of people are compiling music on their PC," Boire said. "With the PC-to-MD interface, you can now create custom compilations from music stored on your PC and record onto an MD for playback anytime, anywhere." The PC-to-MD interface is a cable-and-software bundle that allows digital music to be recorded from your PC on to an MD recorder. Music is recorded in real time. Two versions of the cable are available, linking an MD recorder with either a USB or parallel port of a PC. The software included in the bundle is Secure Digital Music Initiative (SDMI)-compliant and will allow you to manage your music files and create song lists to listen to on your PC or record onto an MD. This new PC-to-MD interface will be available in the first quarter of 2000 at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $49.99. - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

MD: 3 second silence on Sony MDS-JE330
When I make a digital recording using a Sony JE-330 everything goes fine. When I record a concert CD that is miss-tracked I have to combine or add a track mark. Every time I do this I get a 3 second blank space before the track I edit. With a live show the songs run together and the silent gap messes up the flow of the songs. How do I avoid the gap. When 7you access the track directly the gap is not present. It only show up when you play the track before it. The gap belongs to the next track. The display reads. track 4 -0:03, track 4 -0:02, track 4 -0:01, track 4 -4:00. Is this gap a defect of the unit or a menu setting I need to change. - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
RE: MD: New Sony 4x CD/MD dub machine?
While watching MTV or VH1 this past weekend I saw a commercial for this unit. It is available for $399.99 at http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-JChHq29DbYR/ProdView.asp?bid=22661stor e=0sid=S-JChHq29DbYR. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, September 08, 1999 6:47 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: MD: New Sony 4x CD/MD dub machine? OK - so I saw the add in a comic book (Hitman if you must know) It seem Sony has a new unit that has a CD player and a MD deck. The photo looked like a MXD-D1 http://www.connact.com/~eaw/minidisc/part_Sony_MXD-D1.html But most interesting was the 4x claim. Thats right - it will "rip" tracks at 4x (depended on CD quality / errors) Anyone else know about this (or did I miss the discussion?) Never mind - surfing hte MD list(new location) yeilds http://www.europe.sony.com/forum/ifa99_20.html which is for the MXD-D3 model. Now - is this avail in the states and how much? It would make my mixes faster as I currently do CD to MD in real time with a mixer. With a 4x ripper I could do the MD "compilation" and then burn the CD from the MD (which is what I do now anyway). Oh - pro MD unit and Pro CDR stand alone means I dont worry about SCMS. And I *own* the source material (its for DJ work).
