MD: MZ-R90 not writing TOC
My MZ-R90 has apparently stopped writing the TOC. When I record, it appears to record correctly. When it is done, I can back through the tracks and sometimes play them, but when I hit stop twice or remove the MD, the track info is gone and declares the disc to be blank. The disc also reads blank in my 940 deck. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. --Steve -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Matt Wall Sent: Monday, October 08, 2001 2:17 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: MD: Armband case? On the topic of MD cases, I have been looking all over for an armband case to use while commuting with my Kenwood DMC-J7R. So far, I have not been successful in finding one. Any suggestions? RE: MD: Getting MD output into an OEM Car CD player
* J. Coon [EMAIL PROTECTED] on Tue, 07 Aug 2001 | player? I tried one of those FM RF modulators several years back and it | didn't work too well. Have they improved any? Is there another way? No, they have not, and in some areas (like around Boston, MA) they are totally useless as the FM band is saturated. Actually, I have to disagree. I have had the Sony RM-X69RF FM RF modulator in my car in use with MDX-65 for a couple of years now and it works flawlessly. I am in the Boston area and have no problem with drift or interference from local radio stations. This device is different from the cheapies you place on the passenger seat. It is wired into the antenna and has plenty of power to override local radio stations. I have travelled to other cities including NYC and Toronto and have never needed to change the frequency that it is tuned to. Since, it comes in through FM it is obviously limited by that, but in a car with engine and road noise the lack of fidelity is not very important to me. --Steve -- Steven Kramer [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word unsubscribe to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
RE: MD: sec: unclassified LP to MD
Well, I've tried a number of solutions. They all work more or less. However, in order to remove noise, they necessarily distort the music to some degree. My feeling is that unless the records are in very bad shape, it is better to leave them alone. The most important thing you can do is properly clean the records. A large part of the noise comes from dust on the surface. Nitty Gritty makes devices that use fluids to clean and then vacuum the record. These can make a huge difference, but are a bit pricey if your collections is small. CoolEdit (http://www.syntrillium.com/) can remove impulse noises and general hiss and does an okay job. DartPro (http://www.dartpro.com) is designed specifically for record restoration, but is also a bit pricey. They both have demo programs available, so give them a try. But first clean your records. --Steve -- Steven Kramer [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Cramb, Kevin Sent: Thursday, May 03, 2001 8:22 PM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: MD: sec: unclassified LP to MD Gidday All With all this talk of Vinyl it's about time I copied my small collection of LPs to MD. What's the opinion on the best (and free :-)) software to reduce the clicks, pops and general noise? RE: MD: Real Audio
anyway what got me is the refering to saving "real audio" files to your md. ummm dumb question but why would you wanna do that? I'm basically curious as to why anyone would want to do this as the quality would be basically horid.. I do it all the time for NPR talk and news to listen to at the gym. So sound quality is not really an issue. ----- Steven Kramer [EMAIL PROTECTED] - - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
