The best you can do is name a track during pause.

Why, exactly, do you want to name while stopped, anyway? :)

The "Pause" button will help you, i.e. you play into the resp. track a
couple
of seconds, press 'pause' and name / rename the track.

That's what I have been doing but I am just wondering if there is a way to
do it while it's stopped.  I guess not, eh?
