Same here. If anybody knows of a Wal-Mart still selling these Sanyo I'd be
happy to get my hands on one of them.

if walmart wants to unload these units can someone from MDCP contact
them and set up a "mass-buy"? i tried to call all the walmarts w/in
a 30 mile radius and the staff is not very helpful, let alone
  knowledgeable!

I called one Walmart retail location to verify it. I can't do more
 than that, sorry.

Anyone have a SKU number? If I called all the Wal-Marts in my area,
they wouldn't know what I was talking about, but if they can enter a SKU
in their computer, that would really help out.
I could really use another car MD deck for cheap...

2000-01-10 Thread Craig Goligowski

I checkded the site
 http://www.tweeter.com/commerce/product.asp?pf%5Fid=2218108dept_id=926 )
and found it, but no way to order it on line. I called the houston stores
and they said the unit is over 2 years old and they would have no way of
getting one to sell. So another dead end. (

After the Sanyo thing (you all remember it), I thought I'll never see an
In-Dash unit for less than 200$. I followed a link from the MDCP news to
tweeter.com and they seem to have one MDXC150 (I don't know anything about
this model) going for 79.99$. Also they sell the MDXC7900 for 229.99$ which
I think is nice.

Just wanted you guys to know.

Bentz- wish I had an In-Dash (preferably that awesome JVC unit).

re: MD: Cheap in-dash units

2000-01-10 Thread Matt Wall

I did a little bit of research on this unit, heck for $79 it at least get's
you curious. Anyway here is what i found Minidisc.org says it uses an atrac
2 chipset which scares me a little bit, that means it's pretty old. when
trying to find the unit at sony it's not there nor anywhere else i could
find. I am also guessing that since this unit is that old and not on sony's
page any more it's been discontinued for quite some time. I would guess
these unit's were either sitting in a warehouse lost for quite some time or
they are refurb. in either case if you decide to get one definately check
to make sure there is any warantee on it at all. it would suck spending $79
then have the thing puke out on you 2 weeks after having it and having no
course of action to be able to get it repaired or your money back.
Personally i'd stay away from the unit it's not current at all.

Later
Matt
